Hello . . . “You.” He’s back! But this time, Joe Goldberg has gone on a little European holiday for “You” season four. While we’ve seen him work in a bookshop in New York, a lifestyle store in Los Angeles, and a library in the fictitious Californian suburb of Madre Linda, for the fourth installment of the hit Netflix show, Joe’s made his way to London as a university professor, now operating under the name Jonathan Moore. And so the web begins to tangle . . .
The first half of “You” season four is due to premiere on Feb. 9 (with the second half airing a month later), and fans have been eager to see how Joe’s drama-filled life will play out across the pond – and to have their many questions from the end of season three answered. Will Joe (Penn Badgley) find his “true love,” Marienne (Tati Gabrielle)? How does he end up in London when we last saw him searching for her in Paris? Does he still maintain contact with Ellie (Jenna Ortega) or the son he had with Love Quinn (Victoria Pedretti) before she was murdered? How is he coping without two of his toes?
Besides the list of loose ends that need tying up, season four sees a whole host of new characters crossing paths with Joe, or should we say Jonathan? Kate (played by “Fresh Meat”‘s Charlotte Ritchie) appears to be the new love interest, with more rich, elite friends joining the fun, including Adam (“The White Lotus“‘s Lukas Gage) and Lady Phoebe (“Eastenders”‘s Tilly Keeper). Furthermore, there are likely to be a number of locations you just might recognise as the central character sets up camp on UK shores.
While Joe/Jonathan works in a London-based university in the upper-class Kensington area, there are glimpses of St. Pancras International station, Chiswick House and Gardens, and even Fabric nightclub throughout the season. Read ahead for the lowdown on the “You” season four locations, just in case you want to visit Joe’s latest haunts.

"You" Season 4 Locations: Darcy College Campus
Royal Holloway, University of London, is the impressive exterior location for the university Joe lectures at. It’s not actually in central London, though. Sorry to disappoint. The university can actually be found in Egham, Surrey, and is a 40-minute train journey from the capital. Students caught sightings of Bagdley filming in the spring of 2022 and posted sneak peeks on TikTok at the time.
The Founder’s Building at the heart of the uni is the exact backdrop in the Netflix show and was opened by Queen Victoria in 1886. It includes two quads, one of which houses a statue of the monarch. While the location is used as the fictional Darcy College in “You,” the grounds have been used in other movies and shows like “Downton Abbey,” “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” and “The Split.”

"You" Season 4 Locations: Darcy College Library
While Royal Holloway acts as the location for Darcy College, the library is actually a few miles away back in the center of London. Lincoln’s Inn, situated at 11 New Square, is the backdrop for conversations between Joe and his students. Lincoln’s Inn is a society for barristers made up of a number of historic buildings a short walk from Holborn station and is used by some of the world’s most prestigious judges and lawyers. The library was first mentioned in 1471, but its current iteration was finished in 1845 and contains a large number of rare books. We wonder if there’s a glass box in the basement.

"You" Season 4 Locations: Clotho Gallery
Much of the dramatic action takes place at the Clotho Gallery. Eagerly Googling where this might be? You won’t have much luck, as the fictional gallery is actually 1 Old Billingsgate Walk. Situated on the north bank of the River Thames, the Victorian Grade II listed building offers three event spaces and a terrace overlooking London landmarks, including Tower Bridge and The Shard. Until 1982, it housed a world-famous fish market.

"You" Season 4 Locations: Lady Phoebe's Flat
As we’re introduced to the wealthy Lady Phoebe, it’s not long before we see the inside of her abode. And it’s not too shabby. The actual filming location? The Four Seasons Hotel London at Ten Trinity Square. Overlooking the Tower of London, a night’s stay in one of the suites can set you back a whopping $1,900. The site was first populated by the Romans more than 2,000 years ago. During a six-year renovation starting in 2010, a number of Roman archaeological finds were discovered, including cellars and cesspits, which were all donated to museums. For the purposes of “You,” it’s the perfect flat for a rich socialite.

"You" Season 4 Locations: Hampsbridge House
The country getaway for the London rich kids is actually filmed at Knebworth House in Hertfordshire, around an hour’s journey outside the capital. Built by Sir Robert Lytton in 1490, his family have resided in the house ever since. The popular location is the site of concerts and outdoor cinemas in the summer, while “The Crown” filmed there, as did Little Mix for their “Woman Like Me” video. We have one warning that you’ll soon understand: no historic buildings were harmed in the filming of “You.”
