Love Island Australia is ready for its return after a year’s hiatus, and with Sophie Monk back in the hosting chair, we can’t wait to see a new group of hopeful singles find love … and possibly win $50,000.
For those who have never watched the show, Love Island throws a bunch of really attractive singles in one house.
Once they find The One, the couples must convince viewers their relationship is the best of all.
Whoever is the fan-favourite is crowned the winner.
But there is a catch, the couple who receives the most amount of votes can either choose to split the $50,000 between each other, or be completely selfish and keep all of it for themselves.
It’s never happened before, but not going to lie, it would make for entertaining TV.
Usually, when the world isn’t in a raging pandemic, the show is filmed in Spain or Fiji, but this year, the contestants will be taken on a domestic trip instead.

While the show was set to take place in Port Douglas, Queensland, those plans were canned due to Premiere Anastasia Palaszczuk’s strict border closures.
Producers then decided to move the show to Byron Bay.
“As a result of the current COVID-19 situation and fluctuating border restrictions, we have decided to move the filming location of the upcoming third season of Love Island Australia to Federal, Northern NSW,” ITV Studios Australia CEO & Managing Director, David Mott, has said in a statement to TV WEEK.
“This decision has been made with the best interests and safety of all cast and crew involved. We have found a brilliant location and can’t wait to get started.”
NSW Minister for Arts, Don Harwin is also thrilled, telling Nine that he’s “delighted” about the last-minute decision.
“This global phenomenon was secured thanks to the NSW Government’s Made in NSW fund and will deliver a substantial economic boost to the regional economy, providing a significant amount of work for local businesses, cast and crew,” he said.
Love Island Australia is set to premiere soon on Channel Nine.
