Tia and Tamera Mowry Bring Their Mini-Me Daughters to “The Little Mermaid” Premiere

Tia Mowry and Tamera Mowry-Housley turned “The Little Mermaid” world premiere into a mother-daughter date night. The famous sisters brought their daughters – 5-year-old Cairo Tiahna Hardrict and 7-year-old Ariah Talea Housley, respectively – to the star-studded event in Hollywood on May 8, marking the foursome’s first time walking the red carpet together. They each dressed on theme for the occasion; Mowry paired a white t-shirt with a floral sequin miniskirt, Cairo looked adorable in a sparkly unicorn dress and denim jacket, Mowry-Housley chose a blue ombré gown, and Ariah subtly matched her cousin in a light purple tulle dress.

Before heading to the premiere, Mowry shared an Instagram Stories video with Cairo explaining how much it means to watch Halle Bailey be the main star of the live-action Disney remake. “This is so special to us because it’s all about representation. You get to see a little mermaid that looks like you,” the 44-year-old actor said. “It’s very nostalgic for me too because I grew up watching this movie, so to be able to see it with Cairo is just a dream come true.” Bailey herself echoed the same sentiment during an interview with POPSUGAR earlier this year, telling us, “It’s about time that a role like this is played by a Black woman, by somebody who is just a part of this beautiful community. We deserve to have images that look like us.”

Both Mowry and Mowry-Housley also have sons who weren’t present at the premiere. Mowry shares 11-year-old Cree with ex-husband Cory Hardrict, whom she divorced last year. Mowry-Housley shares 10-year-old Aden with husband Adam Housley, to whom she’s been married since 2011.

There were several other sweet family appearances at “The Little Mermaid” premiere. Melissa McCarthy, who portrays Ursula in the film, was in attendance with husband Ben Falcone and their 16-year-old daughter, Vivian. Rapper Offset suited up like a prince and brought daughters Kalea and Kulture, who both dressed to impress in princess-worthy ballgowns. Chloë also stopped by to support her younger sister, wearing a gorgeous yellow cutout dress for the occasion.
