The Veronicas Slam Celebrity Apprentice (Again) in a Scathing Open Letter
In an open letter published to their social media pages, The Veronicas have slammed Celebrity Apprentice for a less-than-flattering edit.
The duo, Lisa and Jessica Origliasso, participated on the show with the intention of winning cash for The Brain Foundation, a charity close to their heart. Now in palliative care, their mother Colleen has a rare neurological condition called progressive supranuclear palsy.
Slamming their portrayal on the show, the twins said that they signed up “under the guise of charity and heart” but have found the series “gut wrenching, soul destroying” to watch.
“Our genuine intentions and passion [have been] reduced to an edit,” they wrote, calling it “disgusting” to see themselves depicted as “strong arming other team members and outwardly using our mother’s condition for sympathy and manipulative tactics”.
Addressing “the crew and production involved in the show that knows the truth,” they went on to say that they felt they had been “used… at the most fragile time in [their] lives”.
“Things don’t get better from here for us,” they wrote. “So you win. I hope it was worth it.”
After posting the open letter, they also tweeted that “being gaslit on an edit over something so close to our hearts is truly beyond comprehension”, accusing the editors of selling their souls to make them look like “entitled brats”.
The twins have been publicly slamming Celebrity Apprentice since the show began airing six episodes ago.
Last week, they tweeted that although they are aware that “fighting is part of [their] brand”, their charity “deserved so much more” than the “scripted drama” being shown onscreen.
“We didn’t need to do this show for exposure,” they added.
