We may have to wait till 2022 for season five of The Crown, but fortunately, Netflix has released a photo of Imelda Staunton as Queen Elizabeth II.
Season five of the hit Netflix show has already begun filming, and it features an entirely different cast from the previous seasons.
The Queen, who was previously played by Claire Foy and Olivia Colman, will now be reprised by Imelda Staunton.
You may be familiar with her most notable role as Professor Umbridge in the Harry Potter franchise.
Season five and six of the show will be set throughout the ’90s and early 2000s.
The Queen, who is noticeably older this season, will most likely be dealing with the death of Princess Diana.
Judging by the photo of Imelda as the Queen, The Crown has done a phenomenal job at recreating Her Majesty’s iconic look.
With high expectations from fans, the Oscar-nominated actress will no doubt do justice to the role.
Joining Imelda is Jonathan Pryce as Prince Philip, Dominic West as Prince Charles, Lesley Manville as Princess Margaret and Elizabeth Debicki as Princess Diana.
Netflix has yet to confirm a premiere date, but it is expected to be released late next year.
