“The Buccaneers” is Apple TV+‘s latest period piece that seamlessly marries intoxicating fantasy with a calibrated reality check. Set against the backdrop of swooning cliffsides, show stopping ball gowns, and whirlwind romances, the series weaves the tales of young American women who dream of joining English high society.

Meet Nan St. George (Kristine Froseth), whose naiveté and wonder infuse the series with a crucial balance. Engaged to the Duke of Tintagel, Theo (Guy Remmers), Nan becomes entangled in a love triangle with his best friend, Guy Thwarte (Matthew Broome). Kristine and Alisha’s Advice to Nan and Conchita

Kristine and Alisha play best friends who are navigating a whirlwind of drama on the show. For their characters, they emphasised the importance of trusting one’s instincts.

“Definitely trust your instinct. To Nan, I would honestly just tell her to hold up,” Kristine told POPSUGAR Australia.

Alisha, meanwhile, championed self-respect and the importance of setting of clear boundaries.

“To Conchita, leave that family! She does do that; Conchita’s kinda got it down. She’s in love with this man and knows she set boundaries. She’s like, ‘Your family’s horrible to me; I’m gonna leave’. So she’s got a good head on her shoulders,” Alisha explained.

Guy and Matthew’s Advice to Theo and Guy

Matthew and Guy kept their advice for their characters short and simple.

“Stop holding things back, just say it… just say it and do it!” Matthew said. Guy chimed in with a laugh, adding: “Don’t let your best friend meet her”.

Immy and Aubri’s Advice to Ginny and Lizzy

Immy and Aubri’s characters are entangled in a complicated relationship on the show, and approached their characters’ romantic entanglements with patience.

“I would say just sit back a bit, like let them kind of come to you. Don’t chase, attract,” Immy said.

Aubri, meanwhile, suggested a more selective approach to relationships for her character, Lizzy.

“I think the advice I would give to Lizzy is probably just be more selective, or get to know somebody first before getting in too deep,” Aubri mused.

“I think also to be like, ‘You guys deserve love and you deserve to be loved in a really special way’,” Immy emphasised. Aubri added, “They deserve love in a very special way, and I hope they realise that.”
