Who’s ready to see “The Boys” head to college? Amazon Prime Video’s spinoff of the graphic superhero series is finally arriving this fall, and we finally have a first look at it. On Dec. 3, 2022, the streamer premiered a teaser trailer for the show, titled “Gen V,” at the Brazilian Comic Con Experience, and the new series looks every bit as diabolical as the original. While the voiceover promises the students of Godolkin University that the campus will offer them a “safe space to thrive,” it appears matriculating at this college is dangerous business.
The series preview, of course, features blood, guts, but also . . . puppets? Without context, it’s hard to tell exactly what’s going on at the university, but with Vought involved, you can bet the whole operation is shady.
“Gen V” was announced around the time “The Boys” season three signed off in the summer of 2022 – just in time to hold fans over until next season, especially amid the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes. Per Prime Video, the R-rated series is about a group of Supes at the only college exclusively for superheroes and the action-packed ridiculousness that ensues. “[It] explores the lives of hormonal, competitive Supes as they put their physical, sexual, and moral boundaries to the test, competing for the best contracts in the best cities,” a press release reads. “It’s part college show, part ‘Hunger Games’ – with all the heart, satire, and raunch of ‘The Boys.'”

“Gen V” Plot
Prime Video’s logline for “Gen V” says the series “explores the training of the first generation of superheroes to know about Compound V, and that their powers were injected into them, rather than God-given.” It adds: “These young, competitive heroes put their physical and moral boundaries to the test, competing for the school’s highly coveted top ranking. They quickly come to learn that ambition comes with sacrifice, and the difference between right and wrong is not as clear as they once believed. When the university’s dark secrets come to light, the students must come to grips with what type of heroes they are going to become.”
“Gen V” Cast
“Gen V” stars Patrick Schwarzenegger, Jaz Sinclair, Chance Perdomo, Lizze Broadway, Shelley Conn, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, Asa Germann, Sean Patrick Thomas, and Marco Pigossi. Additionally, several familiar faces from “The Boys” are set to make appearances in season one, including Jessie T. Usher, Colby Minifie, and P.J. Byrne. Jason Ritter, Clancy Brown, and “Supernatural” alum Alexander Calvert are also set to star.
In the series announcement shared on Twitter on July 15, 2022, the cast members rattled off what to expect from the show, and we know we’re going to love it. “Superheroes, college . . . What could go wrong?”
“Gen V” Premiere Date
The spinoff series is set to debut its first three episodes on Sept. 29. The season will then air weekly episodes before concluding on Nov. 3.
