Wednesday night’s episode of The Bachelor was definitely … interesting. With Stephanie going on an aviation-themed date despite hating pilots and Sierah admitting to having chlamydia, the show was the entertainment we all needed on an otherwise ordinary weeknight.
Unfortunately, as each episode of The Bachelor passes, we say goodbye to one of the ladies vying for Jimmy’s heart, and on Wednesday night, that person was Elena.
POPSUGAR Australia had the chance to speak to Elena about her feelings for Jimmy, what she’ll miss the most from the show and what her next move will be.
POPSUGAR Australia: When you were eliminated, how did you feel about Jimmy at that point?
Elena Louise: I think it was quite a shock. I was not expecting to go last night, but at the same time, I was more upset about leaving the experience.
I do know in reflection now, that there wasn’t really a strong connection between us and we didn’t really have chemistry. I think from the get-go it was friend vibes, and I already knew him beforehand. It was bittersweet really.
PS: Do you have any regrets about your time on the show? Would you do anything differently?
EL: I guess my biggest regret would be holding back a little bit. I think it was more the unknown, I’ve never been on TV before so I was quite worried about saying the wrong thing or having something I say being misinterpreted.
I think if I had that time again I would definitely just be myself more and be more present and let my personality shine through. I think a lot of the girls had really prepared for this, whereas my game plan was to be yourself, be genuine and that was it. Some of the girls just knew how to turn it on for the cameras, I was quite naive in that respect.
PS: What have you taken away from this entire experience?
EL: My life is quite structured because I run my own personal training business, and what it made me learn is, I do really need to have more free time and time to myself and just to enjoy the moment more. I think that it’s about having more balance, flexibility and freedom in my life.
PS: Who do you think will be the last woman standing?
EL: I think he’s going to end up choosing Jay. I was really close with Jay in the mansion and I just think why wouldn’t he choose her? She’s just one of the most genuine girls in there and she’s a cool chick and she’s beautiful as well. She’s a catch.
PS: Tell us, what’s up next for Elena Louise?
EL: It’s hard because of the lockdown at the moment, but I do have plans to raise money for mental health awareness. I’m waiting to run a charity event as soon as we’re out of this lockdown and it’s pretty much going to be this massive group workout.
It was going to have a bunch of trainers involved and it was going to auction off the personal trainers, but we don’t have a set date for that just yet so I can’t give you too much info about that. But work aside, I’m just going to start putting myself out there again and get back on the dating bandwagon and hope that I meet the right guy.
PS: What will you miss the most about being on the show?
EL: I definitely will miss the girls. You end up spending so much time with the girls even though it looks like we’ve known each other for two seconds. We’re literally living with each other, cooking with each other, doing everything together.
So, I really think that’s going to be the thing I miss the most. Just those connections, especially with Tatum and Jay, they were my closest mates in there, and just having that downtime to hang out with the girls. It kind of just felt like we were back in school, but not necessarily in a bad way, in a good way.
PS: And finally, for our own curiosity, how do you know what to pack before heading into the mansion?
EL: That was SO hard. I was so bad I actually packed two massive suitcases, you really don’t know what to expect, what dates you’re going to go on, what attire you’re going to need. Even though we were told it was going to be hot, I packed my whole wardrobe.
So I didn’t really know, you just need to pack for everything. We were given quite simple lists but I was pretty much just trying on outfits and trying to choose different outfits for different occasions and different dates and that was really it.
