Taylor Swift Announces the End of Her Eras Tour, And We Have Mixed Emotions
Are You Ready for It? Well, not this time around. December marks the end of an era — literally, the conclusion of Taylor Swift’s Eras tour. During her recent show in Liverpool, UK, which marked the tour’s 100th performance, Taylor confirmed there won’t be any more dates in 2024. The tour will wrap up on December 8 in Vancouver, just days before Taylor’s 35th birthday. Anyone else thinking about a trip to Canada at the end of the year? Or is it just me?
Addressing the crowd during her concert, Taylor broke the news to thousands of fans.
“A lot of you are like, ‘How are you going to celebrate the 100th show?’ And for me, the celebration of the 100th show for me means this is the very first time I’ve ever acknowledged to myself and admitted that this tour is going to end in December, like that’s it,” Swift said. “And that feels like so far away from now, but then again, it feels like we just played our first show on this tour, because you have made this so much fun for us.”

“This Tour Has Really Become My Entire Life”
The Eras tour started back in March 2023 after Taylor announced it in November 2022. By December 2023, it became the highest-grossing tour ever, hitting over $1 billion. Fans were on a mission to score tickets — Taylor even likened it to a bear attack. Some travelled across oceans, and others caught multiple shows. The whole experience, with sections dedicated to almost every album of Taylor’s career, was even captured in a concert film released in October 2023.

“I think that this tour has really become my entire life. Like, it’s taken over everything. I think I once had hobbies, but I don’t know what they were anymore,” Swift continued. “Because all I do when I’m not onstage is sit at home and try to think of clever acoustic song mashups, and think about what you might want to hear. When I’m not on the stage, I’m dreaming about being back on the stage with you guys. And you have done so much to be with us, right? You’ve made plans so far in advance, you planned what you were going to wear, you memorised lyrics, you got yourselves here, you figured out parking, you figured out transportation.”

“I Appreciate Every Single Ounce of Effort”
She added: “I want to spend the 100th show just thinking about that and living in this moment with you—and being here with you. Just know that I appreciate every single ounce of effort that you’ve put into being with when this tour reaches triple digits of shows. So, thank you.”
From now until December, Swift has 52 more shows on the schedule, including stops in England, Poland, Austria, the U.S., and Canada.
Earlier in her speech, delivered before performing All Too Well (10 Minute Version), Swift described the tour as: “the most exhausting, all-encompassing, but most joyful, most rewarding, most wonderful thing that has ever happened in [her] life”.
