Taylor Swift stepped out in style for the premiere of her Netflix documentary, Miss Americana, at the Sundance Film Festival on Thursday night. Dressed in a plaid jumpsuit and matching coat, the 30-year-old singer looked ready for business as she posed for photos.
Miss Americana will give fans a glimpse into Taylor’s personal life, as well as show viewers how she came to find her political voice over the past few years. “Throughout my whole career, label executives would just say, ‘A nice girl doesn’t force their opinions on people. A nice girl smiles and waves and says, ‘Thank you,'” Taylor says in the trailer. “I feel really good about not feeling muzzled anymore.”
Taylor’s Sundance appearance comes just days after she disclosed to Variety that her mum, Andrea Swift, was recently diagnosed with a brain tumour amid her battle with cancer, which began in 2015. “The symptoms of what a person goes through when they have a brain tumour is nothing like what we’ve ever been through with her cancer before. So it’s just been a really hard time for us as a family,” Taylor said. “Everyone loves their mom; everyone’s got an important mom, but for me, she’s really the guiding force.”
See more of Taylor’s night ahead and make sure to check out Miss Americana when it hits Netflix on Jan. 31.
