Listen up, because if you’re a Spotify user, then you only have a few more days to manipulate the algorithm, because Spotify Wrapped is set to release any day now.
Spotify recently announced to users that their annual Wrapped round-up is coming, giving listeners a little gift before the holiday season officially kicks off.
If this is your first year using the music service, Spotify Wrapped is one of the best features to come out of the giant. The feature gives users a retrospective round-up of what they’ve been listening to in the last year.
Not only do you get given a list of your top 100 songs, but you’re also told who your favourite artist is and what podcasts you enjoy tuning into the most.
However, it has been said that the app stopped tracking streams around Halloween this year, so if you do want to listen to something you wouldn’t want others to know about, now is your chance.
According to one Reddit user who downloaded their data over the years to compare it to their Wrapped, “You have to listen to a song for more than 30 seconds for it to count in your rankings,” she wrote. “Your top songs are calculated by play count rather than total time listened. Your total time listening includes podcasts.”
When Does Spotify Wrapped Come Out?
Previously, Wrapped came out in early December. So it’s safe to assume the people over at Spotify will be following the same timeline this year.
Currently, the Wrapped website reads: “Wrapped is a deep dive into the music and podcasts that defined your 2022. Keep listening to what you love, and we’ll shout when it’s ready.”
If we try to take a guess, we think the round-up will be released sometime next week, but keep an eye out.
