May 2004: Seth Rogen and Lauren Miller Meet
Rogen met Miller in Los Angeles in May 2004. In a May 2014 essay with Glamour, the “Superbad” actor explained, “I first met my wife, Lauren, 10 years ago this May, at a birthday party at El Cid, a Spanish restaurant in Los Angeles.”
During a 2015 interview with Haute Living, Rogen went into more detail about how he and Miller hit it off. “[Will Reiser] was dating [Lauren’s] friend,” Rogen recalled. “Will and I were friends, and he said that the girl he was dating had a friend, and that we might like each other, so we went to a birthday party and met.” According to the publication, the pair had their first date that night, eating grilled cheeses at 4 a.m. and playing Spanish Scrabble.
October 2010: Seth Rogen and Lauren Miller Get Engaged
Nearly six years after dating, Rogen proposed to Miller in October 2010. The proposal was casual. “We moved in together after a year, basically, and in 2010 I proposed to Lauren when she was changing in our closet,” he wrote in his Glamour essay. “I had more elaborate plans, but once I got the ring, I felt like I had a nuke hidden in my garage, and I had to unload it. She was not entirely clothed at the time. I got down on one knee, and she said yes, and then we ate buffalo wings and watched ‘Top Chef.’ It was a great night.”
A source told People at the time of the engagement, “Seth is so excited. Lauren is such a sweet girl. She makes him really happy.”
October 2011: Seth Rogen and Lauren Miller Say "I Do"
Rogen and Miller were engaged for approximately one year before the two tied the knot in October 2011. People reported at the time that the couple had a private wedding overlooking a vineyard in Sonoma County, CA, with friends and costars Adam Sandler, Jonah Hill, and Paul Rudd among some of the guests in attendance.
2012: Seth Rogen and Lauren Miller Form Hilarity for Charity
A few years into Rogen’s relationship with Miller, her mother was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s disease, according to Glamour. Gradually, the couple witnessed Miller’s mother, Adele, lose her memory and need assistance with tasks like eating, moving around, and cleaning herself. Together, Rogen and Miller moved her parents out to Los Angeles and bought a duplex where her father, mother, and mother’s caretaker could live, but the two wanted to do more.
In 2012, they founded Hilarity For Charity, a yearly variety show that hosts various programs and events to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s research. The nonprofit celebrated 10 years of operation in January 2022, and Miller took to Instagram to commemorate the special event.
“Happy Birthday to @wearehfc,” she wrote. “Somehow it’s been 10 years from that first incredible event. We had no idea what we were doing, I had to run backstage and remind Seth to even mention Alzheimer’s right before the end of the show, but we managed to pull it off and haven’t stopped since. We’ve raised $15 million, awarded over 350,000 hours of free respite for caregivers, and reached over 3M people through our programs and events.”
2018: Lauren Miller Directs Seth Rogen in "Like Father"

“You would think it would be easy for me to get cast in the film because of that – it wasn’t. The role was for, like, a Canadian man in his mid-30s and I read the script and I was like, ‘Perfect,'” Rogen said (via People). “And then my wife is like, ‘So I’m starting auditions next week.’ And then she would just keep showing me these auditions of all these guys. She’s like, ‘This guy is handsome, what do you think of this guy?'”
