Selena Gomez and Hailey Bieber Pose For Sweet Photos Together at Academy Museum Gala

There’s no bad blood between Selena Gomez and Hailey Bieber, and they have the photos to prove it. Just a few short weeks after Hailey opened up about the backlash she faced when she began dating Justin Bieber, Gomez’s ex and Hailey’s future husband, during an episode of the “Call Her Daddy” podcast, the two women showed a united front when they posed for a series of cozy photos at the 2022 Academy Museum Gala. Photographer Tyrell Hampton shared one of the snaps on Instagram alongside the caption, “plot twist.”

In this case, the plot twist is that despite the internet attempting to pit the duo against each other, they appear to be completely comfortable around one another as they hug and smile for the camera. This shouldn’t come as a surprise to fans of Gomez and Hailey, especially after the “Only Murders in the Building” actor seemingly spoke out against the hate Hailey received due to the timing of her relationship with Justin.

Gomez posted a TikTok video admonishing anyone who would try to spread hate in her name shortly after Hailey shared her experience on the podcast. “I think some of the things that I don’t even need to be aware of are just vile and disgusting,” she said. “And it’s not fair because no one ever should be spoken to in the manner that I’ve seen.”

For her part, Hailey shared that even though it may have appeared from the outside that there was some overlap between her relationship with Justin and Gomez’s, the pop star was single when their romance began. “The perpetuation comes from the misperception, ‘Oh, you stole him,'” she explained. “It comes from the fact that they wished he had ended up with someone else, and that’s fine. You can wish that all you want, but that’s just not the case. If we have moved on, why can’t you?”
