Tom Hanks kicked off his 67th birthday with a sweet (and funny) tribute from his wife, Rita Wilson. On July 9, Wilson shared a photo of Hanks wearing a tropical shirt that almost matches the curtain behind him on Instagram. She captioned this peak dad pic with a heartfelt message about how much her husband means to her, and how much typewriters mean to him.
“Happy Birthday to this man who is my lover, my best friend, my family, the father of my children,” Wilson wrote. “He loves a typewriter just slightly less than me, ( why is there no typewriter emoji?) invents cocktails like Diet Cokecaine ( Diet Coke mixed with Champagne) or a Cokearita( Diet Coke mixed with margarita) , DJs regularly on @bossradio66 , is happiest being surround by his family and friends, and has committed to telling the stories of veterans and has created his own coffee brand supporting veterans, @givehanx Hanx for our Troops.”
She continued, “He is one of the smartest people I know, has made me laugh everyday for 38 years, can nap anywhere at anytime. Happy happy birthday my love!”
Wilson wasn’t the only one who was eager to show Hanks some love on his special day. Several of the couple’s famous friends popped into the comments to send their best regards, too. John Stamos commented, “Look at the guns on that kid!” Meanwhile, Sharon Stone added, “HAPPY BIRTHDAY TH,” and Kate Hudson wrote, “Happy Birthday Tom!”
Having been married for 35 years and counting, Hanks and Wilson are one of Hollywood’s most enduring couples. Together they share two children: Chet Hanks and Truman Hanks. The “Toy Story” actor also has two children – Colin Hanks and Elizabeth Hanks – from his previous marriage to Samantha Lewes.

In April, Wilson celebrated her and Hanks’s wedding anniversary with a post featuring her husband giving her a cake on Instagram. She captioned the romantic photo, “35 years of marriage. April 30 1988. Love is everything.”
