Pedro Pascal and His Brother, Nicolás Balmaceda, Attend Sister Lux’s Graduation From Juilliard
Lux Pascal was feeling the love on Friday. The 30-year-old graduated from The Juilliard School in New York City as her proud brothers, Pedro Pascal and Nicolás Balmaceda Pascal, cheered their little sister on. (The Pascals also have an older sister, Javiera Balmaceda.)
Both Pedro and Lux shared photos from the day on their Instagram Stories. “The Last of Us” actor shared a snap of his sister in her cap and gown and holding her degree alongside five heart emojis. Meanwhile, the recent graduate posted a pic of herself standing between her two brothers and another one of the trio of siblings posing with a woman at the event.
Pedro previously said his “protective side is lethal” when it comes to his little sister, who came out as transgender in 2021. In an April interview with Esquire, “The Mandalorian” star discussed the challenges facing the trans community and how proud he is of his sister. “I wouldn’t want to speak on her behalf, but she is and has always been one of the most powerful people and personalities I’ve ever known,” he said. “My protective side is lethal, but I need her more than she needs me.”
Lux previously shared how her brother supported her from the moment she told him she’s transgender. The aspiring actor publicly came out in a 2021 issue of the Spanish language Ya magazine. In her interview, she opened up about how her family has been by her side throughout her journey.
“My transition has been something that’s very natural for everyone in my family,” Lux said. “It’s almost something that they expected to happen.”
She went on to give Pedro a special shout-out for the way he’s always been there for her. “He’s also an artist and has served as a guide for me,” she explained. “He was one of the first people to gift me the tools that started shaping my identity.”
Lux added that when she first came out to her oldest brother he “asked me how I felt, because I remember he was a little worried.” As soon as he knew his sister was happy, Pedro congratulated her. “Perfect, this is incredible,” she recalled her brother saying.
