Only Murders in the Building: The Biggest Suspects For Tim's Murder, From Least to Most Likely
If you love a good true crime mystery but also have a soft spot for comedy, Only Murders in the Building on Disney+ is about to become your new favourite show. Starring Selena Gomez, Martin Short, and Steve Martin, the series follows a group of tenants living in NYC who find out that one of their neighbours, Tim Kono, has been murdered. After bonding over their love of a true crime podcast, Gomez, Short, and Martin’s characters team up to get to the bottom of Tim’s mysterious death while documenting the whole experience with a podcast of their own. However, as new motives come to light, everyone begins to feel like a prime suspect, including Gomez’s Mabel who has a mysterious past with Tim. As we patiently wait for the next batch of episodes to air, let’s break down the biggest suspects for Tim’s murder, from least to most likely.
Howard
Something about Howard just feels off to us, almost like he’s hiding a big secret. It also doesn’t help that his cat’s paw prints were all over the murder scene. However, out of all the suspects so far, he definitely seems the most harmless.
Mabel
It’s hard to believe that Mabel would be digging into a murder she committed – plus the private video she records in episode two pretty much confirms she’s not Tim’s killer – but why would she go to such great lengths to keep their friendship a secret? Does she know more than she’s letting on about Tim’s death and Zoe’s murder all those years ago?
Tie-Dye Guy
Right now, the most mysterious suspect on the show is the “tie-dye guy,” who has yet to be identified. As far as true crime stories go, that alone makes him one of the biggest suspects. After all, he was spotted going up the staircase to the roof the night of Tim’s murder. Although, the flash-forward in the first episode does show Mabel kneeling over a presumably dead person wearing a tie-dye hoodie. If he’s Tim’s killer, who has it out for him?
Zoe’s Killer
As we learn more about the Hardy Boys in episode two, it becomes apparent that Tim’s death is part of a bigger mystery. It might even be connected to Zoe’s death that occurred 10 years earlier. If that’s the case, then there’s a good chance that Tim’s killer and Zoe’s killer could be one in the same.
