Because We Just Had to Know: What the Heck Is Olivia Wilde’s Special Salad Dressing?

When I woke up this morning, I was not expecting the news of the day to be about salad dressing. More specifically, Olivia Wilde’s salad dressing.

The actress-turned-director has had a whirlwind year, and since the release of her new film Don’t Worry Darling, she’s been dominating headlines for all of the wrong reasons.

There was the whole Shia LaBeouf drama; her rumoured feud with Florence Pugh, her relationship with Harry Styles and her divorce from Jason Sudeikis.

It’s … a lot.

Now, to add more fuel to the fire, the Daily Mail has released a bizarre tell-all article interviewing Olivia and Jason’s former nanny, and she did not hold back.

The nanny, who claims she was abruptly fired with no warning, told the publication that things between the couple hit breaking point after Olivia left their home with a salad for her new beau, Harry, apparently made with what Jason allegedly called “her special dressing.”

The entire ordeal resulted in the Ted Lasso actor allegedly lying down in front of Olivia’s car to prevent her from seeing the artist, and basically caused Jason to spiral.

The former couple, who share two children together, released a joint statement after the article went live, saying: “As parents, it is incredibly upsetting to learn that a former nanny of our two young children would choose to make such false and scurrilous accusations about us publicly.

“Her now 18-month long campaign of harassing us, as well as loved ones, close friends and colleagues, has reached its unfortunate apex. We will continue to focus on raising and protecting our children with the sincere hope that she will now choose to leave our family alone.”

While the story itself is chaotic, it has gotten everyone on the internet to raise one very important question: What is Olivia’s special salad recipe?

Thankfully, Olivia herself has taken to Instagram to share the recipe, as we’re sure her DMs were flooded with requests.

Her special dressing includes red wine vinegar, Grey Poupon Mustard (sounds fancy) and olive oil. But take a look at the tweet below for the exact measurements.

However, if the above doesn’t sound appetising enough to you, then you can try making Olivia’s roasted salmon salad with zucchini and potatoes, which she made back in 2020 on Questlove’s Potluck. Here’s the recipe if you want to recreate it yourself.

Next up, we break down exactly how James Corden‘s wife likes her omelette, so you can avoid being yelled at by the late night host for mixing the egg whites with the yolk.
