There have been some changes at Netflix of late, sure. For one thing, there was the introduction of the lower priced, ad-supported subscription plan, called ‘Basic with Ads’, and then the feature that allows you to boot your freeloading friends off your account.
One thing that hasn’t changed, however, is the constant delivery of content that makes us text our mates to cancel plans in favour of a night in front of the box, snacks optional (just kidding, they are one hundred per cent mandatory).
With that in mind, let’s take a look at what we can expect from the streaming giant as 2022 draws to a close.
The Masked Scammer, December 1
If you were glued to The Tinder Swindler, Inventing Anna or Bad Vegan, then you will likely be the target demo for the latest true-crime offering, The Masked Scammer. This one follows the story of a master con man who scammed French elites out of millions. Pas bon!
Firefly Lane (Season 2 – Part 1), December 2
Sarah Chalke and Katherine Heigl are back as best friends Tully and Kate who have stood by each other through thick and thin, despite being polar opposites. If you watched season one you’ll remember that the finale featured a flashforward to a future scene, where the pair have an emotional confrontation at a funeral, with Kate stating that she never wants to see Tully again.
Prepare to find out exactly what went down in season two…and whose funeral they were at in the finale.
Lady Chatterley’s Lover, December 1
Emma Corrin and Jack O’Connell star in this spicy adaptation of D. H. Lawrence’s novel. The story follows Lady Constance Chatterley (Corrin), whose happy marriage to Sir Clifford Chatterley (Matthew Duckett) soon turns sour when he returns wounded and scarred from World War I. No longer able to walk, Clifford treats his wife as a nursemaid, leaving her dissatisfied and lonely. Enter Oliver Mellors (Jack O’Connell) the new gamekeeper who is here to help Constance choose chaos — which she absolutely does.

The thriller follows a student saddled with debt turning to scams and frauds to earn a living and also stars Theo Rossi, Megalyn Echikunwoke, and Gina Gershon.
Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio, December 9
Guillermo del Toro is a master at creating fantasy worlds which is one of the many reasons we have been anxiously waiting for his take on the story of Pinnochio.
This stop-motion adaptation features a seriously A-list cast including Ewan McGregor, David Bradley, Gregory Mann, Finn Wolfhard, Cate Blanchett, John Turturro, Ron Perlman, Tim Blake Nelson, Burn Gorman, Christoph Waltz, and Tilda Swinton.
Emily in Paris — Season 3, December 21
She’s baaaaaack! Or, should we say, “elle est de retour”! Emily Cooper left us hanging in the season two finale of the Darren Star hit series. Was she going to stay working at Savoir or leave to join Sylvie and co? And what is she going to do about that fine young boy Alfie? Will she and Camille ever be friends again?
Hopefully all of your burning questions will be answered on December 21 when Emily and her impossibly fabulous Pat Fields wardrobe return for a third outing. And, spoiler alert…Emily now has bangs!
Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, December 23

Once again, a prestigious ensemble has assembled for the murder mystery with Edward Norton, Janelle Monáe, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr., Jessica Henwick, Madelyn Cline, Kate Hudson, and Dave Bautista all starring.
Roald Dahl’s Matilda The Musical, December 25
If you’ve ever dreamt of Ms Trunchbull doing jazz hands….we can’t promise that she will do them in this musical version of Matilda, but you should totally watch it anyway.
Alisha Weir, Lashana Lynch, and Emma Thompson star in this boppy version of the cult classic book about a little girl who has special powers and uses them to exact justice on her treacherous school principal.
The Witcher: Blood Origin, December 25
Set more than a thousand years before the world of The Witcher, seven outcasts in the elf world unite in a quest against an unstoppable power.
