Molly-Mae Hague Doesn’t “Have the Confidence” to Wear a Bikini Since Becoming a Mum
Molly-Mae Hague has been keeping fans updated about her experience as a mum to baby Bambi. From her YouTube channel to her Instagram page, the former “Love Island” star has always been candid about all areas of her life. Most recently, Hague got real about her postpartum body while on holiday in Barbados where she was a bridesmaid for her friend, Francesca Britton.
While vlogging the trip for her followers, and detailing how she was juggling looking after Bambi and being a good bridesmaid, she opened up about her poolside attire. Showing her strapless monochrome swimsuit from River Island, which she loved, she added: “I’ve got this swimming costume on…for me at the minute swimsuits are the one. I’m not a bikini girl at the minute because I just don’t have the confidence. I didn’t really have the confidence for bikinis before I had a baby.”
Later in the vlog, she discussed what she would be wearing to the rehearsal dinner the night before the wedding. While talking through the options of a pink suit or a green slip dress, she explained that she is more confident when her body is covered up. “I genuinely feel like, with time, my confidence with my body is actually getting worse. It’s irritating me,” she said. “I really thought on this trip, I’m just going to embrace it, I don’t care, my new mum bod, I’m proud of it, and I am, but with time I feel like I”m finding it harder to accept that I’ve got a real journey to start if I want to feel more confident in my body.”
It’s totally natural to feel less body confident after having a baby, and so many new mums will be able to relate. The influencer also recently revealed that she is still wearing her maternity jeans and outlined the difficulties she felt in the first week after Bambi’s birth. Hague follows Stacey Solomon, who has been modelling a series of bikinis since giving birth to baby Belle in Feb, in shedding light on postpartum bodies. The two celebrities’ differing feelings about their own bodies proves there is no right or wrong way to feel, it’s about doing what’s best for yourself and wearing whatever makes you feel comfortable.
Hague, whose boyfriend Tommy Fury recently hinted that an engagement is likely to be on the cards soon, dressed in a white lace bridesmaid dress at the Barbados wedding, walking down the aisle with baby Bambi. The gorgeous family were glowing, and there’s no bikini in the world that would have made them look any better.
