Confirmed: Matthew Lewis, aka Neville Longbottom, Is Still a Hottie
Okay, we have a confession to make: with all the hype around the Harry Potter reunion, we’re still kind of obsessed with Matthew Lewis, aka Neville Longbottom. Also, ICYMI the trailer for the reunion, it’s here:
He’s hot! Like, really hot. So let’s talk about it.
Who Does He Play in Harry Potter?
If you’re looking at the promo pic for the reunion and are like “wait who’s that really hot one on the right, I don’t remember him?”.
Folks, that’s grown-up Neville Longbottom. You’ll remember him looking like this in the films:
Let’s compare:
When Did He Get So Hot?!
Matthew Lewis famously broke the internet back in 2015 when he covered Attitude Magazine and revealed some pretty magical-looking abs. We — the collective internet — loved to see it!
In fact, his transformation was so impressive to people that the internet coined it “Longbottoming”, a term that Urban Dictionary defines as the following:
Last year, while promoting flick Baby Done, which he stars in, Matthew told triple j that although he doesn’t quite get the hype, he’ll take it.
“Well, being 31 years old now, I have to pretend I don’t know what that phrase means, ‘glow up’,” he said. “I mean, what is that? But gosh, I mean, I don’t know, man. I guess it’s a compliment, I suppose. I am very humbled by the nice things that people say. I don’t know what they are talking about, to be honest. They could be saying a lot worse things, I suppose!”
Matthew even poked fun at the absolute phenomenon of “Longbottoming” back in 2016, releasing a limited line of t-shirts for charity that featured a photo of himself as a kid with the caption “Started from the bottom” on them.
What’s He Up to Now?
Matthew is booked and busy! Last year, he had a supporting role in the British drama series All Creatures Great and Small.
He also starred in the aforementioned rom-com Baby Done, alongside Rose Matafeo, who you might recognise from the HBO Max show Starstruck.
