After finishing runner up on Season 3 of MasterChef Australia, Michael Weldon is returning for Fans vs Favourites to take care of some unfinished business.
Weldon credits his friends for pushing him to kickstart his culinary journey, daring him to enter the competition back in 2011. Thankfully, it paid off and since then, he has fully immersed himself in the world of food.
Following his journey on the show, Weldon has kept himself busy by building his CV with various pursuits. He worked with burger restaurant and catering business, Well Done Food, as well as a chef for the Little Miss Group in Adelaide. Currently, he works for Coles as an ambassador and Senior Development Chef.
While Michael’s strength lies in savoury dishes, don’t underestimate his ability to whip up a great dessert. He enjoys preparing meat and seafood over charcoal and cites Thomas Keller, Peter Gilmore and Martin Benn as his biggest inspirations.
In 2017, Michael had a recurring role on The Cooks Pantry cooking show. Shortly after that, he nabbed himself a co-hosting role on the cooking show Farm to Fork. The series gives viewers a behind-the-scenes look into how produce makes its way from farms into people’s kitchens.
Michael leaves at home his partner Georgia and greyhound Roger.
MasterChef Australia: Fans and Favourites premieres Monday, April 18 on Channel 10 and 10Play.
