MAFS’ Tayla Speaks Out About ‘Villain Edit’ and Naive Experience on the Show
The latest season of “Married At First Sight” has been filled with drama, but that’s no surprise. And one of the standout brides is Tayla, who’s had her fair share of ups and downs. Despite entering the experiment late, the 27-year-old had a tumultuous relationship with her ‘husband’ Hugo.
Things between the pair came to an end at the fifth dinner party on Wednesday night. Tayla made a surprising comeback to the show after supposedly quitting and flying back home to Tasmania. The bride told her ‘husband’ she was willing to give things another chance, but Hugo had had enough.
“You’re going to be absolutely awesome when you find the person you connect with but we both know that’s not me and that’s OK,” he said.
The couple then announced their split to the group, calling an end to their time on the show.
During a recent interview with Hit100.9’s Dan & Christie, Tayla spoke out about her exit and how she was portrayed on the show this season.
“I’ve definitely been given the villain edit. They didn’t really have a female villain this year and I had to slide into that role a little bit,” she told the radio hosts.
“I don’t think it’s a true representation of myself and it’s not reflecting who I am, but it is what it is. The people who know me know me.”
Tayla admitted she felt naive going into the experiment and felt like the producers exploited her during filming.
“I was taken full advantage of over there, they manipulated me quite a lot,” she admitted.
“Even last night, they edited my audio so much to make it sound like I wanted to stay. I never wanted to return from Tassie but I had to,” she added.
The bride has confirmed she hasn’t spoken with Hugo since filming wrapped.
