Prime Video’s original series, Luxe Listings Sydney, is back for season two and it’s set to be bigger and better than ever. Showing off the harbour city’s stunning multimillion-dollar property market, agents Gavin Rubinstein, D’Leanne Lewis, and Simon Cohen are all returning to make a lot of money and give us an inside look into their lavish lives. Joining them for the first time is Monika Tu, an international market specialist with a killer wardrobe.
“This season is more fun, and it has me! I’m a person who isn’t that serious, but I’ve worked really hard for what I’ve achieved,” Tu tells POPSUGAR Australia when asked what fans can expect from season two.
Being a real estate agent in the luxury space isn’t for the faint-hearted, and Tu and Lewis are two of the most skilled people in the business. Selling millions of dollars worth of houses, they have both worked incredibly hard to build a name for themselves, inspiring many women along the way.
“There are no shortcuts, there’s just hard work. There are no excuses, there are just results, and I’ve said that always,” said Lewis, who has been working in the industry for 30 years now. “It’s not a gender-based industry, it’s a results-based industry. So you’re not defined by being a woman, you’re defined by the results you bring, and that level of results is completely and totally up to you. It’s about how much you’re willing to sacrifice and that’s what is going to define you.”
Season two is upping the ante, something we didn’t know was possible after a smashing first instalment. The first season quickly became Prime Video’s biggest Australian Original series, and it’s about to get even better.
“I was a bit sceptical going into [filming] season one because I didn’t have relationships with the cast and crew — it was all kind of fresh. So, it was all very reserved in regards to how much I was going to let these people into my life,” said Rubinstein. “Because how would that affect my brand and business? That’s always my top priority. But now, having the experience and building those relationships, you also build trust. [Season two] is more of a behind-the-curtain look into my life and how it all works and operates.”
Not only do we get to build a deeper relationship with the cast this season, but with Tu entering the playground, things are about to get shaken up.
“She elevates the whole series to another level, but make no mistake, I also bring an international clientele,” said Rubinstein. “When it comes to marketing, there are very few agents, not only in Sydney but in the country, who have the reach I do. But in terms of the energy and the comedy and the dynamic she brings to the show, she only makes it better.”
If you watched the entirety of season one (how could you not?) then you would know it ended on a serious cliffhanger, with Rubinstein receiving a call from his boss, Mr White. We’ve been itching to know what happens next, and the agent reassured us that we’ll get the answers we so desperately need.
“Episode one, season two, I’m meeting with the Whites. So stay tuned!”
But aside from the cast’s personal lives, we also watch Luxe Listings Sydney for the stunning properties. We may not be able to afford them, but we can dream, and buyer’s agent Cohen has revealed that the upcoming season has so much to offer.
“You’re going to get a lot more house porn! So there are a lot more epic houses in it,” he said. “But you’re also going to see the same banter and the same drama — it’s a must-watch.”
Season two of Luxe Listings Sydney will premiere exclusively on Prime Video from April 1.
