Kim and Kourtney Kardashian seem to have some beef. Fans have been speculating that the sibling duo have had tension brewing for a while, but season three of “The Kardashians” on Hulu dives deeper into the source of their current clash – and it has everything to do with Dolce & Gabbana.
For context, Kourtney partnered with the fashion brand for her lavish Italian wedding to Travis Barker in May 2022. Soon after, Kim began a partnership of her own with the brand, and apparently Kourtney wasn’t happy about it.
In a conversation with Kendall Jenner that aired as a teaser at the end of the third episode of “The Kardashians” season three, Kourtney broke down in tears when discussing her sister’s decision to work with the brand. “Sorry, it just like upsets me,” she said. “It’s just legit copying my wedding.” She also clarified in clips from the upcoming episode that the feud is definitely real. “People think that it’s a misunderstanding,” she said. “It’s not.”
Also in the teaser for next week’s episode, Kourtney accused Kim of using the former’s wedding “as a business opportunity.” Kendall later told Kim that Kourtney “felt like her wedding vibes were stripped from her” due to the partnership.
The Kardashian family’s decision to partner with Dolce & Gabbana has ruffled some feathers before, but not for the same reasons that upset Kourtney. The brand has a long history of racism and homophobia; for example, cofounders Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana reportedly told Italian magazine Panorama, “We oppose gay adoptions. The only family is the traditional one,” per Quartz. They also came under fire for an ad showing a Chinese model eating Italian food with chopsticks, among other controversies, though neither Kourtney or Kim has addressed these issues.
New episodes of “The Kardashians” season three premiere Thursdays on Hulu.
