Kiani Smith Is on the Edge of an “Australian Idol” Elimination — Can She Make a Comeback?
On “Australian Idol”, there can only be one winner. This means that week after week, some very talented artists get eliminated from this competition. As it stands, the “Australian Idol” contestant Kiani Smith is on the precipice of falling off this ledge. They are currently in the Top 10’s bottom two.
Kiani’s “Australian Idol” journey started off strong. At only 17-years-old, she belted a cover of Anne-Marie’s 2002 into the icon territory. This rendition particularly impressed the judge Amy Shark.
“It’s pretty scary that you are that good at this age!” Amy said.
Since then, Kiani has done some other fantastic performances. Her energetic performance of Fleetwood Mac’s “Rhiannon” brought the house down. Likewise, her vulnerable rendition of Soft Cell’s “Tainted Love” was one of the best performances this season.
However, Kiani’s cover of Vance Joy’s “Riptide” wasn’t up to snuff. This landed her in the Top 10’s bottom two. Kiani is dangerously close to not receiving enough votes, and Australia might try and eliminate her from this competition.
Does Kiani have what it takes to make a comeback? What is motivating her to continue? Here’s everything we know about the “Australian Idol” sensation Kiani.
Can Kiani Smith Win “Australian Idol” 2024?
Kiani Smith is a youngster from Bribie Island, Queensland. However, just because she’s young doesn’t mean she’s not experienced.
“I’ve been writing songs since I was seven years old,” Kiani said. “I play guitar, piano, ukulele, and drums. I would love to show Australia my talent and further my career in the music industry.”
What’s more, Kiani is going to do her best to escape the bottom two label. She wants to inspire other young Aussies to follow their dreams.
“I want to prove to people, especially my generation, that anything is possible,” Kiani said, “and you can achieve anything you put your mind to.”
If you want to watch Amy on “Australian Idol”, the season 2024 is playing on Channel 7 and 7 Plus. New episodes will air at 7pm on Sundays and at 7.30pm on Mondays and Tuesdays. Miss an episode? Catch up on 7 Plus.
