Kate Middleton’s Dazzling Dress at the Premiere of James Bond Paid Homage to Princess Diana

Kate Middleton rarely steps a foot out of line, and her appearance at the recent premiere of James Bond No Time To Die proved exactly that.

As soon as she stepped onto the red carpet, it was game over for everyone else, because the future Queen of England stole the show. Her golden gown by Jenny Packham glistened underneath the lights and featured an elaborate cape that swept the floor behind her as she walked.

Perfectly cinched in at the waist and covered in golden beads all over, the Duchess of Cambridge resembled a Bond girl.

It’s no surprise her look dominated the headlines as soon as she was photographed, but what many may not be aware of, is her late mother-in-law did it first. While attending a James Bond premiere in 1985 of A View to a Kill, Princess Diana wore a similar silhouette, no doubt inspiring Kate when it came to her own wardrobe choice.

Diana wore a glistening long-sleeved gown, in metallic silver by designer Bruce Oldfield, with a deep V-neck. It seems Kate chose to modernise the look, by adding a sheer cape and switching up the colour.

But it wasn’t just the dress that reminded people of the late Princess. A photo taken of Kate conversing with Daniel Craig, was similar to a shot of Diana speaking to Roger Moore, who played Bond back in the ’80s.

Kate is no stranger when it comes to paying tribute to her mother-in-law, often opting for pie-crust collars and wearing pieces from Diana’s own jewellery collection.

We find it hard to believe that her choice of dress wasn’t intentional, and really, who wouldn’t want to emulate Princess Diana!?
