There’s a reason why Justin Bieber cares whether or not his mama likes you: they’re incredibly close. Pattie Mallette has supported the pop star’s career since the very beginning, and though they’ve had their ups and downs, the mother and son always seem to find their way back together. Back in 2015, Justin confessed to Billboard that he’d lost touch with Pattie because he was “ashamed” of the person he’d become. “We spent some time not talking, so it takes time to rebuild that trust,” he said, later adding, “She’s an amazing woman and I love her.”
A little more than two years later, the two vacationed in the Maldives together, and a sentimental pic Pattie posted on Instagram during the trip indicated that their relationship was back on track. In her lengthy caption, she was sure to tell her son, “I’m so proud of the amazing young man you are, and the young man you are becoming,” and concluded with, “I love you to the moon and back.” Aw.
