Well, that was short-lived!
Married at First Sight Star Jake Edwards is back on the market after parting ways with his girlfriend Sophie Guidolin.
In early May Edwards told POPSUGAR Australia that his businesswoman flame was “one of the best things that ever happened to me.”
“She inspires me to be better and challenges me in ways that no one ever has,” he said.
Although the pair were doing the long-distance thing, all seemed to be going well until Sophie Guidolin informed one of her Instagram followers that she and Edwards had split.
“His values and character certainly do not align with my own,” she commented. “I wish him all the best to get the help he needs.”
Following Guidolin’s comment, Edwards’ friend Mel Grieg rushed to his defence, citing that Guidolin had been uncomfortable with their platonic friendship. However, she later updated her original Instagram post saying that she had spoken to Guidolin and that something bigger was at play.
Now Edwards’ Married at First Sight bride Beck Zemek has thrown her hat into the ring to help clarify the situation…except it remains as vague as ever.
“I got an unexpected call last night from someone who needed to confide in me,” Zemek wrote. “She has never met me, but we shared a similar experience with someone who we hope we can get the help they need, because although this person hurt us, he deserves support to change his mindset.”
After a lengthy post in which Zemek promoted how many dogs and houses she said, she alluded to having turned to excessive partying as a form of escape and concluded by writing, “If you’re not where you want to be in life than you are the reason. And the sooner you own that, is the sooner you can start doing something about it.
“Take time to be you and stop worrying about everyone else, because you matter more.”
The former reality star then confirmed to the So Dramatic! podcast that she had, in fact, been referring to Guidolin and Edwards.
It remains unclear what prompted the end of Edwards and Guidolin’s romance, but given that reality stars love to share it shouldn’t be too long before we find out exactly what went down.
