Jade Thirlwall Celebrates Her 30th Birthday Dressed as Lil Kim in Lilac Jumpsuit and Nipple Pastie
There’s no way Jade Thirlwall is letting Santa Claus steal her birthday limelight. The Little Mix singer, who was born on Boxing Day, celebrated her 30th birthday early with an epic fancy dress party on 17 Dec. and Thirlwall certainly pulled out all the stops. Dressed as Lil Kim in that iconic purple jumpsuit the rapper wore to the 1999 VMAs, Thirlwall aptly named her party the “JMAs” with guests asked to dress as their favourite music stars.
Thirlwall’s ensemble, quite rightly, stole the show as the singer donned a lilac wig and bedazzled jumpsuit, almost identical to Lil Kim’s look, made by Bang London and styled by Zack Tate and Jamie Mcfarland. The one-shouldered all-in-one left an exposed breast, which showed one of her tattoos, with a crystal shell nipple pastie attached to cover her modesty.
She posted a carousel of photos on her Instagram, along with the caption, “It’s that time of year where I force my friends to do fancy dress to celebrate my (early) birthday in the hopes of overshadowing Santa ? honouring an icon…I’m the L-I-L to the K-I-M. Disagree? Well that’s you and I’m sorry ?.” We know Thirlwall has a love of dressing up (her couple costume as Marge Simpson will go down in Halloween history), so her fancy dress theme was certainly on brand.
Fellow Little Mix star Leigh-Anne Pinnock also took the dress code seriously and dressed as J Lo in a Bang London replica of J Lo’s iconic palm-print Versace dress, complete with plunging navel-grazing neckline. Despite Little Mix currently on hiatus, it’s great to see the girls are still firm friends, having reunited with Perrie Edwards last week, too. Thirlwall’s boyfriend, Jordan Stephens, hilariously dressed as the birthday girl from the “Sweet Melody” music video and gave a sweet speech about her. Other guests included Clara Amfo as Beyoncé, Ella Eyre also as Beyoncé, and MNEK as Freddie Mercury.
The party was even catered by Nandos as guests danced while eating peri-peri fries. Suddenly, we don’t think our week of Christmas parties is going to cut it. Read ahead to see some of the costumes, and a throwback of Lil Kim so you can see just how iconic Thirlwall looked.
