Here's Everything We Know About Amazon's Revival of I Know What You Did Last Summer
Amazon Prime will be celebrating the spookiest month of the year with a nice helping of ’90s-horror nostalgia. The streaming platform’s TV revival of the iconic 1997 horror film I Know What You Did Last Summer is arriving this October, and we have a trailer to get us excited. It appears the new teen sexy horror series will follow a similar premise as the original, but with a whole new cast and modernised storyline.
We’re still a few weeks away from the premiere date, so if you haven’t seen the ’90s flick or its subsequent sequels (starring Jennifer Love Hewitt, Sarah Michelle Gellar, and Freddie Prinze Jr.), consider this your official PSA. In the meantime, read up on everything we know about the horror series, like its release date, cast, plot, and more, in the slides ahead!
What Is I Know What You Did Last Summer About?
Similar to its 1997 predecessor, I Know What You Did Last Summer will follow a group of teenage friends on the one-year anniversary of the fatal car wreck that plagued their graduation night. After the group receive a threatening text from an unknown number, they band together to hunt down their mystery stalker, uncovering unsettling secrets about their small town and peers in the process.
When Will I Know What You Did Last Summer Premiere?
It’s spooky season, and Amazon Prime understood the assignment. Season one of I Know What You Did Last Summer is slated to premiere on the streaming platform on Oct. 15, 2021, right on time for Halloween!
Who Is in the I Know What You Did Last Summer Cast?
I Know What You Did Last Summer will feature Madison Iseman, Bill Heck, Brianne Tju, and Ezekiel Goodman as the main players. Ashley Moore, Sebastian Amoruso, Fiona Rene, Cassie Beck, and Brooke Bloom will also star in season one.
How Many Episodes Are in the First Season of I Know What You Did Last Summer?
Unfortunately for viewers, Amazon Prime is jumping on the week-to-week release bandwagon instead of debuting the entire season at once. Season one of I Know What You Did Last Summer will run for eight episodes, with the first four dropping on premiere day (Oct. 15). After that, Amazon Prime will release new episodes every subsequent Friday, with the finale airing on Nov. 12. There’s no word yet as to how long each episode will be. Assuming the runtime will follow other Prime TV originals, fans can expect 40- to 60-minute episodes.
