The 2023 Screen Actors Guild Awards will commence on Sunday, Feb. 26. Considering the prestigious ceremony – along with the Golden Globes – often indicates what films will snag Oscars later in the year, film and TV buffs alike are always buzzed to tune in. While the ceremony has historically aired simultaneously on TNT and TBS, that changes starting this year.
Variety reported that the SAGs were moving to Netflix in a new multi-year partnership in January. “We are thrilled to embark on this exciting new partnership with Netflix, and we look forward to expanding the global audience for our show,” SAG-AFTRA national executive director Duncan Crabtree-Ireland said in a statement to the publication. “As the only televised awards program exclusively honoring the performances of actors whose work is admired by millions of fans, the SAG Awards are a unique and cherished part of the entertainment universe.”
Fan-favorite films and television shows, from “The Banshees of Inisherin,” “Everything Everywhere All at Once,” “Elvis,” and “The Whale” to “Dead to Me,” “Abbott Elementary,” and “Wednesday,” are all up for awards this year – so don’t miss out on the ceremony.
