Why Arrow Will Never Miss a Showdown on “Gladiators”

Arrow is being performed by Harriet Roberts on Gladiators

“Gladiators” is back with a fresh coat of paint. We’re talking about a new arena, two new hosts, and some new challenges. There’s even a Gladiator in the ring named Arrow.

The original version of “Gladiators” aired in the nineties and made waves across Australia. In the first season, a number of permanent competitors, called Gladiators, battled against a number of one-time contestants, called Challengers. They competed in wrestling matches and obstacle course races to win a car.

“I watched “Gladiators” when I was about 20,” co-host Liz Ellis told The Latch in an interview. “And remember it being massive. Everyone watched it and talked about it. People just couldn’t believe the fact that these Gladiators, who were larger than life, were also so lippy and so fun.”

However, with this show’s 2024 reboot, some changes need to be made. For starters, Liz is now co-hosting this series alongside Beau Ryan. What’s more, the Challengers are no longer competing for a car; instead, they are vying for a spot on the 2025 season of “Gladiators”.

“The big prize at the end of the series is not just the trophy, it’s the ability to become a Gladiator next year,” Liz said. “So the contenders become the Gladiators. That was a real driving force for them. They put everything on the line. And you know when they get to the end of the eliminations, you know that they have nothing left to give.”

Which brings us all the way back to the new Gladiator named Arrow. So, will this Gladiator prevent a Challenger from winning this grand prize? Or will they fall short on this mission?

Here’s everything we know about the “Gladiator” Arrow.

Who Is the “Gladiator” Arrow?

In 2024, the “Gladiator”Arrow is being performed by Harriet Roberts, a 31-year-old competitor representing Queensland. Harriet is renowned for being one of Australia’s top female CrossFit athletes and currently serves as an athletics coach and trainer.

“Born in New Zealand, bred in Singapore, currently living on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland,” Harriet wrote on her website. “I’m a hard-working, straight-talking Kiwi, here to share insight into my many years of training”.

Meanwhile, Harriet’s performance as Arrow will be a playful one. She will disarm you with her smile, before becoming fast, precise, and deadly.

Across her Instagram posts and stories, Harriet has been hyping up her version of Arrow.

“Arrow NEVER misses her target,” Harriet wrote in one post.

We cannot wait to learn what else Harriet and Arrow bring to the Arena. They’re definitely going to make this reboot a series that we will not forget.

“Gladiators” is set to premiere at 7.30pm on Monday, January 15, only on 10 and 10 Play on Demand. Miss its premiere? Catch up on 10 Play.
