Ghosting is one of the most common pitfalls of dating in the digital age. However, in the movie “Ghosted,” Chris Evans’s Cole refuses to accept that he’s been ignored. Instead, he decides to fly all the way to London to find a girl named Sadie (Ana de Armas), who he’s gone on exactly one date with, after she stops responding to him. Per the official trailer, which dropped on March 6, the consequences of this “romantic gesture” wind up being far more outlandish and dangerous than he could have ever imagined.
“Ghosted” isn’t the first time de Armas and Evans have collaborated onscreen. Most recently, they starred together in Netflix’s 2022 thriller “The Gray Man,” and they also appeared together in Rian Johnson’s 2019 caper “Knives Out.” Evans has been open about how much he loves working with de Armas, telling Collider in 2022 that when it comes to picking costars for his movies, “she’s the first person I go to, and if she says ‘no,’ then we explore the pool . . . but she’s the first up.”
“Deadpool” writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick collaborated on the “Ghosted” script with Chris McKenna, and the movie will be directed by Dexter Fletcher.
Aside from her upcoming flick, it’s been a major year for de Armas so far, who is nominated for best actress at the 2023 Oscars for her performance as Marilyn Monroe in “Blonde.” “Ghosted” promises to be the closest thing de Armas has done so far to a romantic comedy, though it definitely still has some of the action and drama she’s known for. Meanwhile, Evans voiced Buzz Lightyear in 2022’s “Lightyear” and was also named People’s Sexiest Man Alive in 2022.
