It’s not often Emma Watson poses for a red carpet, but when she does, she’s sure to turn heads. At a pre-BAFTA dinner hosted by Charles Finch and Chanel on Saturday evening, Watson dressed in a surprising look for the actor: a lingerie-inspired velvet cutout dress from London-based Albanian designer Nensi Dojaka‘s fall 2022 collection, worn under a structured, sharp-shouldered blazer. The emerging designer has been on the rise and worn by the likes of Zendaya, Dua Lipa, and Rihanna since she won the prestigious LVMH Prize last year.
As Watson is known for her feminine, polished style, which often includes elegant power suits and preppy, sustainable pieces, her shoe choice for the event was even more unexpected. Her striped thigh-high boots from the coveted Jimmy Choo and Mugler capsule collection took center stage.
Watson continued her public appearances throughout the weekend, also attending the BAFTA Awards and subsequent afterparty. At the ceremony, where she presented the award for best film, she wore a gorgeous two-toned tulle gown with a plunging halter neckline from Oscar de la Renta. Watson was among many best dressed stars at the BAFTAs, along with Millie Bobby Brown, Simone Ashley, and Lady Gaga. Afterward, at a party hosted by British Vogue and Tiffany & Co., the actor went back to black in a chic suit paired with a lace bodysuit underneath.
Back in October, Watson returned to the red carpet for the first time in years wearing an upcycled couture gown at the Earthshot Prize awards ceremony in London. She teamed the tulle Harris Reed piece, made from old wedding dresses, with flared trousers and rubber-tread-sole boots. A few days later, Watson chose a sustainable look once again, dressing in a custom-made Emilia Wickstead set to interview politician and environmentalist Al Gore. The cropped, ab-baring blouse and matching skirt were made of leftover fabric from Wickstead’s resort 2022 collection.
Ahead, check out Watson’s latest commanding look.
