Emily Cooper (Lily Collins) and her iconic camera phone case are back! Once again, she’s living out our Parisian dreams (minus the complicated love triangles – we’ll leave that to her and Sylvie) in Emily in Paris season two, which dropped on Dec. 22. While season one left many fans with mixed feelings, season two is upping the ante with double the fashion, triple the drama and scandal, and quadruple the romance. Seriously, we could barely keep track of all the new love interests introduced this season. From the Gabriel-Emily-Alfie timeline to a new Savoir on the horizon, there were a lot of bombshells this season and, here, we’ve recapped them all. Catch up on everything that went down in Emily in Paris season two and check back as we anxiously await for season three details.
What Happens to Emily in Emily in Paris Season 2?
Just as Emily (Lily Collins) is finally settling into her new life in Paris, everything around her implodes. Gabriel is no longer leaving Paris, which means Emily will have to see him every day after what was supposed to be their farewell hookup.
What better way to distract her from the man she can’t have than a sexy Saint Tropez getaway with Mathieu Cadault. But, unfortunately, Mathieu overhears Emily and Gabriel talking about their hookup on the phone and abruptly ends their romance.
When Emily returns to Paris, things get complicated when her best friend and Gabriel’s ex, Camille, finds out about their hookup. To top it off, she’s repeating her French I class, which has been made bearable thanks to Alfie, a handsome British businessman. While slow-burning, their connection is undeniable.
Emily continues to (mostly) crush it at work and stay friendly with her coworkers. But Sylvie’s resignation, and an invitation for Emily to join her at her new marketing firm, catches Emily off-guard. It’s either Chicago or Paris. Her choice is made harder by the news that Alfie is going back to London and wants to do long-distance.
After a talk with Mindy, Emily runs to Gabriel’s apartment to confess her love, only to discover she’s lost her shot. In the last scene, Emily calls Sylvie with her decision, but viewers aren’t sure what decision she’ll make.
What Happens to Mindy in Emily in Paris Season 2?
After she gets demoted to Madame Pepe (aka, the bathroom attendant) at her new job, Mindy (Ashley Park) meets two aspiring musicians who offer her a job as the lead singer of their band. Thrilled, Mindy accepts, only to find out they’re buskers. Still, she’s happy to perform all over Paris.
Things get spicy when Mindy begins mixing business with pleasure with guitarist Benoît (Kevin Dias). Then, news of Mindy’s past as a Chinese Popstar contestant resurfaces and threatens to break up the band and her new relationship. With Emily’s love and support, Mindy learns to put her past fully behind her and smooths things over with Benoît and her bandmates.
What Happens to Camille in Emily in Paris Season 2?
Camille (Camille Razat) is having a rough go. Upon finding Gabriel’s pan in Emily’s apartment, she confronts them at Emily’s birthday dinner and airs all their dirty laundry in front of Emily’s friends and colleagues.
Heartbroken, Camille ices them out and focuses on her art and growing the family business. As punishment to Emily, she asks Savoir to remove her from managing Champere’s account. However, after a lot of coaxing and a penned letter in broken French, Camille forgives Emily, but not before making her swear she’ll never be romantic with Gabriel again.
As a result, Camille patches things up with Gabriel and moves into his apartment, making the three of them neighbours.
What Happens to Gabriel in Emily in Paris Season 2?
Season two begins with chef Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) opening his new restaurant in Paris under the management of one of Savoir’s longest and wealthiest clients – and Sylvie’s old flame – Antoine Lambert. Despite their never-ending quarrelling, the grand opening is successful – unlike Gabriel’s love life.
Gabriel tries to do right by Camille at Emily’s request, though he’s still head-over-heels in love with Emily. Gabriel has a front seat to Emily and Alfie’s relationship throughout the season. When Alfie raises concerns about Gabriel and Emily’s history, Gabriel assures there’s nothing to worry about (even though they made out in his kitchen not too long before).
When Emily goes to tell Gabriel the news that she plans to stay in Paris in the final episode, she discovers that Gabriel has asked Camille to move in with him, which means they’re back together, and Emily’s plans are thrown up in the air once again.
What Happens to Sylvie in Emily in Paris Season 2?
Once again, Sylvie (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu) is putting out fires left and right at Savoir – mostly because of high-brow fashion designer Pierre Cadault. While in Saint Tropez, Emily runs into Sylvie fooling around with the Laurent G beach club owner, who Sylvie reveals is her husband of over 20 years. They have an open relationship, which is why Sylvie is free to take up a Parisian lover (Erik, the photographer).
Things get messy when Madeline, Emily’s boss from the Gilbert Group makes a surprise visit and flips Savoir’s – aka Sylvie’s – way of conducting business upside down. When Madeline learns how Sylvie compensates her clients (and vice versa), it’s the final straw. However, Sylvie beats her to the punch and announces that not only is she resigning, but she’s launching her own luxury marketing firm. To do so, she sold her shares of Laurent G beach club to her husband and is taking the whole team with her – including Emily, if she accepts.
What Happens to Alfie in Emily in Paris Season 2?
Alfie (Lucien Laviscount) moves to Paris from London on business and meets Emily in their French I class. At first, the two have a snarky relationship – clearly, their way of flirting with one another. However, things heat up when a class project becomes an overnight at Alfie’s high-rise apartment. They begin seeing each other, and as luck has it, Alfie also happens to strike up a friendship with Gabriel (but, unbeknownst to him, Emily and Gabriel still have feelings towards one another).
When Alfie gets whiff of Emily and Gabriel’s complicated relationship, he confronts both of them separately, and both assure him it’s over. In the final episode, he breaks the news to Emily that his business project is complete and he must return to the London offices. Putting his heart on the line, Alfie says he views Emily as more than just a fun Paris fling, and he would like to do long-distance.
