Celebrity Relatives Hide Their True Identities on “Claim to Fame” Show

For Frankie and Kevin Jonas, being a celebrity is in their blood. For the 12 contestants on “Claim to Fame,” being a celebrity is also in their blood, we just don’t know how. The new ABC show, hosted by the two Jonas brothers, has 12 celebrity relatives competing against each other to discover who they are each related to. The winner of the series, well, the last person who is able to keep their celebrity relative a secret at the end, will win $100K. In the premiere episode, the contestants shared their names, their relationship to their famous relative, their famous relative’s profession, and the biggest award their relative has received. The catch? They’re lying about some of their answers.
While some of the contestants have revealed their identities to viewers during the introductions, they are all hiding their relatives from each other. In the trailer, it was revealed that relatives of Zendaya, Chuck Norris, Simone Biles, and Whoopi Goldberg would be amongst the cast, so of course, our wheels have been turning since the series premiered on July 11. There are challenges each week to try and get to know each other and expose who their relatives are, and there is also a clue wall, which contains hints about the cast members’ relatives.

Who Is Louise From "Claim to Fame" Related To?
From the moment she graces our screens, it’s obvious that “Louise” is related to Simone Biles. Her real name is actually Adria Louise Biles, and she’s the Olympic gymnast’s younger sister. “Louise” attempts to fool the cast when she comes out in basketball attire for the talent show in the first episode, but her striking resemblance to her older sister makes it extremely difficult to conceal her identity. During the cast introductions, “Louise” lies about her first name, but admits that her famous relative is her sister who is an athlete. She also lies that her famous relative’s biggest award is the Honda-Broderick Cup, an award for college-level female athletes, which Simone Biles never won.

Who Is Maxwell From "Claim to Fame" Related To?
Maxwell shares with the cast that his famous relative is his grandfather, but the clues throughout the house throw the other cast members off. His lie is that his grandfather is a singer and tells the truth about his grandfather’s biggest award being a Hollywood Star. With the shark and dinosaur characters imprinted on the wall, viewers thought Maxwell was the grandson of Steven Spielberg, who famously directed “Jaws” and “Jurassic Park,” but the surprising final minutes of the premiere episode proved otherwise.
Maxwell spoke about how his grandfather didn’t have a cell phone and was hard to get in touch with, often having to go through lawyers to talk to him. When Pepper is chosen as the person to guess another contestant’s identity, she puts Maxwell on the spot and is ready to declare him as Spielberg’s grandson. Before she’s able to guess his identity, Maxwell is disqualified from the competition and eliminated from the house for using a secret cell phone. He is then revealed as Chuck Norris’s grandson, which saves Pepper from elimination.

Who Is Amara From "Claim to Fame" Related To?
Amara might be able to keep her identity a secret from the rest of the cast, but she has already revealed herself to be Whoopi Goldberg’s granddaughter to the viewers. Amara told the cast that her famous relative is her grandmother who is an actor, but she lied to the group and said that the biggest award she received was an AVN Award, which is an Adult Video News award.

Who Is Logan From "Claim to Fame" Related To?
Logan reveals to the cast that his famous relative is “a very well-known country music star,” whose biggest award is an Academy of Country Music award. While the singer, who surprisingly looks a lot like Tom Holland, initially says that his famous relative is his grandfather, he later admits that it’s actually his cousin.

Who Is Brittany From "Claim to Fame" Related To?
Brittany admits that her famous relative is her father, who is an athlete. She says he is “a Super Bowl champion and a Hall of Fame quarterback,” but lies to the cast and says his biggest award is an Emmy. Brittany has immunity after winning the first competition for her impressive drawing in the talent show, but viewers were searching if she could be the daughter of Brett Favre, John Elway, or Joe Montana.

X has made it very clear from the start that he is there to win the prize. He has lied about his name and lies that his famous relative is his father. He tells the truth when he says his famous relative is an actor and the biggest award they’ve received is an Emmy. X later admits that he has a twin sister, which immediately has viewers theorizing that he is the twin brother of “Orange Is the New Black” star Laverne Cox, whose name is M Lamar. X shares that he is a composer and performer during the talent show.

Who Is Michael From "Claim to Fame" Related To?
Michael’s famous relative is his female cousin, who has received an Emmy Award. Michael later says that his relative is “an actor, singer, dancer,” which gets everyone’s wheels turning. During the trailer for the Jonas-led competition show, Zendaya‘s name is mentioned, and viewers are starting to think that Michael’s famous relative could be the Emmy-winning Zendaya.

Pepper lands in the hot seat during the premiere episode when she’s chosen to guess the identity of Maxwell, but is saved when he is eliminated for breaking the strict “no cellphone” policy.
