Why Aussie Fans Will Love “Charlotte in Sunderland”

The show first aired in the UK in February 2023. And, according to the “Geordie Shore” star, her Aussie fans have been begging to have it released Down Under.

“I’m so excited for the show to come out in Australia ever since it’s been out in England,” she says. “I’ve had, like thousands of DMs from Australia saying, ‘How the hell do we watch it?’, so I worked my hardest and hardest and now it is finally time for you guys to see it. “Charlotte in Sunderland” isn’t your run-of-the-mill reality show. It’s a whirlwind journey through Charlotte’s everyday life, where she’s not afraid to bare it all. The show promises a unique angle, showcasing an intimate and unscripted look into Charlotte’s life, separating it from her previous endeavours in reality television.

“This show is really like the in-depth of my life. Every other show that you’ve seen kind of follows the same script,” she says. “This is really like, where my heart is, where I’m from. This is really me in Sunderland. You’re gonna see it’s my normal life.”

From hanging with her school buddies to bonding with family and even sharing the most intimate moments, Charlotte is giving viewers an unadulterated slice of her life.

“You’re gonna see so much of my normal life,” she says. “It’s not very celeb, but you won’t see us at many events or you literally are seeing me at the core of who I am with my proper school friends, people who I haven’t even met before… with all of my family. Like you get to see [me give] birth, it is the core of wholesome.”

Charlotte on Boundaries, and Why She’s Not a Fan of Them

Intriguingly, Charlotte challenges the concept of boundaries in her public life. While many stars speak of their desire for keeping certain elements of their lives private, Charlotte has a perspective that sets her apart from the typical celebrity narrative. She shares, “I don’t really think that anything that I’ve done has really been a secret, and I don’t have any sort of boundary. I think they’re [boundaries] all well and good, but I also think boundaries is this new, trendy thing to say, and it’s like, ‘Oh, I have my boundaries now’.”

She goes on to emphasise that while boundaries can have their place, they should not be used as a means to limit experiences or opportunities.

“I just think that this whole boundary thing, sometimes you put boundaries in place and it can make you come across maybe a little bit rude,” she adds. “And sometimes by doing all these things that you don’t wanna do, they lead you to quite incredible opportunities.”
