“There’s Plenty of Surprises!” Chrissie Swan Dishes All About Celebrity MasterChef
With this season of MasterChef Australia getting down to the pointy end, we’re starting to look toward the future: Celebrity MasterChef. What can we say?! We can’t get enough!
The series will see radio host and TV presenter Chrissie Swan, pop star Dami Im, Olympian Ian Thorpe, fashion designer Collette Dinnigan, stand-up comedian and actor Dilruk Jayasinha, actress Rebecca Gibney, actor Matt Le Nevez, football stars Nick Riewoldt and Archie Thompson, and Gordon Ramsey’s daughter Matilda Ramsey go head-to-head for the win, and we can’t wait to see how it all plays out.
They’ll be trying to impress judges Melissa Leong, Andy Allen and Jock Zonfrillo and prove themselves to be the celeb most skilled in the kitchen.
Luckily for us, Chrissie Swan had a chat with NOVA’s Fitzy and Wippa this morning, and she dished up some juicy details for us to feast on while we wait for the show to premiere.
“As expected, Thorpie is quite competitive,” Chrissie said, “and Collette is an artist in the kitchen. As you can imagine, the plating up is like to put it down the catwalk!”
Still, we shouldn’t assume we know how it’s all going to play out based on the cast’s public personas.
“The great thing about the cast is that they’re all dark horses because you don’t know what goes on behind closed kitchen doors,” she explained, adding, “there’s plenty of surprises!”
Anyone who’s seen a cooking show in the last decade or so would be able to tell you that Gordon Ramsey swears like a sailor, but is his daughter Tilly in the same boat? According to Chrissie, no!
“She’s very posh, very funny and very refined,” Chrissie said. “I swear like a wharfie around her though, I don’t know what it is about her!”
So, will Chrissie be able to beat out Tilly, the daughter of a multi-Michelin starred chef? Honestly, it all just depends how the food tastes, at the end of the day, which is good for Chrissie, who told Fitzy and Wippa that she’s basically “a prison cook”.
“My serving style is getting a line in front of me, hold a bowl and I’ll just put a spoon in a giant pot and slop it on there!” she laughed.
Celebrity MasterChef will premiere on Network 10 and 10 Play later this year.
