Embrace Your Inner Carrie Bradshaw By Visiting Her Iconic Stoop in Sydney

If New York City is the fifth character of Sex and the City, Carrie Bradshaw’s apartment must be the sixth. Over the course of six seasons, two films and now a reboot, Carrie’s Upper East Side abode has seen her through heartbreak, laughs with her girls, endless sex columns and countless wardrobe changes.

Earlier in 2021, when Airbnb announced that a stay in a recreation of the writer’s apartment in New York was up for grabs for just USD $23 a night (and included a Carrie-worthy closet of clothes to dress up in), the space in Chelsea was snapped up in a matter of seconds.

For residents and visitors of New York, the exterior of Carrie’s apartment, which of course includes the famous stoop, is a must-stop on any Sex and the City tour, with fans flocking to 66 Perry St in the West Village to get their photo in front of an unforgettable moment from pop culture.

For Sydneysiders, the next best thing is now at our doorstep (excuse the pun) with Carrie’s stoop arriving in Sydney’s Pitt St Mall so that fans, old and new can get their very own snap in front of the significant steps.

The arrival of the stoop recreation is courtesy of BINGE and marks the celebration of the new series And Just Like That…which is now streaming weekly on the platform.

Alison Hurbert-Burns, Executive Director, BINGE, said: “We are so excited to give Sex and the City fans their very own slice of one of the world’s most popular shows, with the arrival of Carrie’s famous stoop
in Sydney.

“The series has already cemented itself as Australia’s newest TV obsession and we are thrilled to be able to provide fans, new and old, with a taste of this incredible series by coming down to Pitt St Mall and getting a pic on Carrie’s famous stoop.”

If you’re not able to make it down to Sydney to visit Carrie’s stoop, BINGE doesn’t want you to miss out. The streaming service is calling on Australia’s biggest Sex and The City fans to get involved, by recreating their
own piece of pop culture history via the And Just Like That Stoop Challenge.

All you have to do is strike a pose on your own staircase in your best SATC inspired fashion outfit, upload it to Instagram, tag @BINGE and include #Carriesstoop.

Fans who can make it to Carrie’s Stoop in Pitt St Mall should also take a snap and upload it to their Instagram, tagging @BINGE and using #Carriesstoop, so they will also be entered into the contest.

The prize? Every entrant will go into the running to win a voucher to the value of $5,000 to start their designer shoe wardrobe, which even Carrie herself would be proud of.

Carrie’s stoop will be on display in Pitt Street Mall, Sydney on Friday 17 (12-8pm), Saturday 18 (11am-7pm) and Sunday 19 December 2021 (11am-7pm).

And Just Like That…is now streaming on BINGE.
