Offset opened up about how fame has affected his relationship while talking to “Way Up With Angela Yee” on July 31. During the interview, the rapper confirmed he previously cheated on his wife. Although he said he’s since grown and has tried to do right by her, Offset admitted it hasn’t been easy with people constantly reminding him of his past mistakes. “We both in the front, center stage, all our business is always public,” he said. “You making it harder for me by bringing up bullsh*t.”

January 2017: Cardi B and Offset Collaborate For the First Time
Cardi B and Offset’s history goes all the way back to January 2017 when they dropped their single “Lick.” The track, which marked their first collaboration together, was featured on Cardi B’s second mixtape, “Gansta B*tch Music, Vol. 2.”
February 2017: Cardi B and Offset Go on a Date
Cardi B and Offset’s first date was one to remember. While appearing on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” in July 2021, the Migos rapper revealed he decided to go “big” by taking Cardi B to Super Bowl LI. “I wanted to do something that was not normally done, you know what I’m saying? I wanted to have fun,” he said. Although he lost a $10K bet over the game, Offset said he “won” a wife that night. “That’s not a bad consolation prize,” host Anthony Anderson said. “Not at all,” Offset responded.
In an April 2018 interview with GQ, Cardi B admitted she was a bit hesitant to go on a date with Offset at first. “I never wanted to date a rapper because I would hate to look crazy in public, like you on a date with me but you f*cking other b*tches?” she explained. However, once Cardi B realized his feelings for her were genuine, she agreed to meet up. “He was like, ‘No, I really like her. I’m really feeling her,'” she said, adding that they officially became a couple soon after the game. “We was talking, we was making out. We didn’t f*ck. After the Super Bowl, it got really serious because I feel, like, all eyes on us.”
October 2017: Offset Proposes to Cardi B
It didn’t take long for Cardi B and Offset to get serious. Just eight months after their Super Bowl date, the couple got engaged during a concert in Philadelphia that October. Offset popped the question live on stage. “She said yes,” he captioned a photo of the moment on his Instagram Story.
Soon after, Cardi B shared a close-up of her ring on her own Instagram. “Jesus Christ I’m so emotional, @offsetyrn I loveee you so much. Thank you for seeing the potential in me since you met me. For giving me advice molding me and loving me,” she wrote in a since-deleted post, per People. “Your such an amazing man to me your family, friends, kids and you are extremely talented. January 2018: Offset Is Accused of Cheating on Cardi B
In January 2018, videos surfaced of Offset reportedly cheating on his wife with several other women, according to E! News. Cardi B addressed the rumors afterward on Twitter. Although she said “it’s not right” for men to cheat, she appeared to want to give Offset another chance. “What you want me to do? Go f*ck me another n***a? start all over again and get cheated on again?” she wrote. “This sh*t happens to everyone and I be too, You too … People handle they relationship different soo.”
Cardi B told fans that she would “make a decision” eventually, but that fans should respect her privacy in the meantime. “I don’t need to be rushed or be told what to do. Its my life! I belong to me not to the world.”
April 2018: Cardi B and Offset Announce They're Expecting
After the couple made amends, Cardi B confirmed that she and Offset were expecting their first child together in April 2018. The star made the announcement by debuting her baby bump while performing “Be Careful” on “Saturday Night Live.”
June 2018: Cardi B and Offset Confirm They Secretly Got Married
When Migos won best group at the 2018 BET Awards, Offset sparked speculation that he and Cardi B secretly got married by referring to her as “my wife” during his acceptance speech. According to a marriage certificate obtained by TMZ, the couple tied the knot on Sept. 20, 2017 in Fulton County, GA. This meant that the stars were already husband and wife when their public proposal happened that October.
Cardi B confirmed their secret nuptials in a June 2018 tweet. “One morning in September we woke up and decided to get married,” she wrote. “I said I do, with no dress, no make up, and no ring!” Since she’s always dreamed of getting proposed to, Offset made that happen by getting down on one knee on stage in Philadelphia. “I appreciate and love my husband so much for still wanting for me [to] have that special moment,” she gushed.
July 2018: Cardi B and Offset Welcome Their First Child Together
On July 10, 2018, Cardi B and Offset welcomed their daughter, Kulture Kiari Cephus. While the baby marked Cardi B’s first, it was Offset’s fourth time becoming a father. He also has two sons named Jordan and Kody, as well as a daughter named Kalea Marie, from previous relationships.
December 2018: Cardi B and Offset Break Up
In December 2018, Cardi B announced in a since-deleted Instagram video (via People) that she and Offset had called it quits. She explained they had tried to “work things out” but ultimately decided to go their separate ways. “It’s [nobody’s] fault I guess we just grew out of love,” she said.
Offset wasn’t ready to say goodbye to Cardi B, however. In an attempt to get back together, the star interrupted Cardi B’s performance at Rolling Loud Festival by bringing out a huge display of roses that read, “Take Me Back, Cardi.”

September 2020: Cardi B Files For Divorce From Offset
The stars split again in September 2020 after Cardi B filed for divorce from Offset. According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Cardi B said there were “no prospects for a reconciliation” between the couple. She was also seeking primary legal and physical custody of Kulture and requested Offset pay child support. While there were rumors of Offset cheating again, per People, Cardi B later clarified in an Instagram Live the real reason she wanted a divorce. “It’s not because the cheating. . . . I just got tired of f*cking arguing. I got tired of not seeing things eye to eye,” she said.
October 2020: Cardi B and Offset Kiss Amid Divorce
While celebrating her 28th birthday in Las Vegas, Cardi B and Offset were photographed kissing at one point during the night, which raised speculation they were back together, per People. During an Instagram Live days later, Cardi B revealed she decided to reunite with Offset after starting to miss him. “It’s hard not to talk to your best friend. You know what I’m saying?” she said. June 2021: Cardi B and Offset Announce They're Expecting Again
Cardi B surprised fans at the 2021 BET Awards by announcing she was pregnant again. The rapper made the big reveal by joining Migos’s performance in an embroidered bodysuit that exposed her baby bump. “#2! ♥️ @offsetyrn,” Cardi B captioned a maternity photo on Instagram that night.
September 2021: Cardi B and Offset Welcome Their Second Child Together
Cardi B gave birth to the couple’s second child on Sept. 4, 2021. The rapper announced their son’s arrival on Instagram by sharing a photo of her and Offset with their baby boy at the hospital. “9/4/21???,” she captioned her post. The pair revealed their son’s name, Wave Set Cephus, on Instagram in April 2022.
June 2023: Offset Accuses Cardi B of Cheating on Him
Offset shared an Instagram Story on June 26 that accused his wife of cheating on him. In his since-deleted post (via People), the rapper said Cardi B had “f*cked” another man. Cardi B responded to the accusations by singing Keyshia Cole’s “I Should Have Cheated” on Twitter Spaces, including the lyrics, “You can’t accuse me of all the things you know that you are guilty of.” She also told fans, “Don’t pay attention to that country man, y’all.”
July 2023: Offset Takes Back the Cheating Accusations
In a July 31 interview on “Way Up With Angela Yee,” Offset clarified that Cardi B didn’t cheat on him and that he started the rumors after a heated argument between the pair. “We was going back and forth and I’m like, ‘Watch this,'” he said.
