Did You Hear? Your Favourite Shows are Returning and Other Stories You May Have Missed
Welcome to Did You Hear…? where we recap the top five pieces of news from the past week in pop culture so you’re always up to speed.
It’s been a big week for TV announcements! It’s time to fill up your 2022 calendar, because Australian Survivor: Blood Vs. Water, Married at First Sight and Bridgerton are all set to make comebacks, and some of them are sooner than you’d think!
But that’s not all, so buckle in, and let’s unpack it all.
Married at First Sight Has Announced a Premiere Date!
Get ready for all of the drama because the brand new season of Married at First Sight is set to air early next year, and Channel 9 have treated us with an exciting new trailer.
Season 9 of the controversial show will debut on Monday, January 31 and fans are already preparing themselves for the cattiness, gossip and relationship drama.
The teaser, which was released on Christmas Eve is just as dramatic as one would expect, and gave a sneak peek into the brides and grooms who will take part in the “social experiment”.

Australian Survivor: Blood vs Water Has Announced Its Return
The new year is nearly upon us and if you didn’t realise, then you will now because a bunch of TV shows have announced their return in the new year. After a quiet period of no reality shows on our television screens, the drama is back in full force, and first up is Australian Survivor.
Channel 10’s hit show is set to return for its seventh season with a new format: Blood vs Water on January 31, the same day as Channel 9’s Married at First Sight.
After the extended trailer was released last week, fans have been eager to know when they can binge on the upcoming episodes, and now that they know it’s only a few short weeks away, they’re bubbling with excitement.

Bridgerton Season 2 Has a Release Date
We love to see it! Or, rather, we will love to see it, when Bridgerton season two drops next year.
Before Squid Game, Shonda Rhimes’ Bridgerton smashed Netflix’s records and is currently the streaming platform’s second most-watched series of all time.
However, if you’re looking forward to getting a second dose of Simon and Daphne when Bridgerton returns, we’re so sorry to be the ones to inform you that it’s simply not going to happen. In fact, Rege-Jean Page — who played Simon in season one — is apparently not in season two at all.

And Just Like That Featured a Succession Easter Egg
And Just Like That has plenty of references to Sex and the City, which is expected considering it’s a reboot of the popular TV series. But what we didn’t expect was a similarity to HBO’s hit show Succession, a story about the extremely wealthy Roy family.
In season three of Succession, Kendall Roy (Jeremy Strong) uses his ex-wife Rava’s (Natalie Gold) apartment to plan his campaign against his father Logan (Brian Cox). During the heated episode, his conniving siblings come over to have a talk, which takes place in the living room.
The New York penthouse is hard to forget, and thanks to the Architectural Digest we know it’s valued at $23 million (AUD$32 million). The black spiral staircase and the minimalistic decor really helped set the scene, and it seems it’s not just Kendall who is a fan of the property.
In episode four of And Just Like That, Lisa Todd Wexley (Nicole Ari Parker) hosts a dinner party at her home, and she seems to live in the exact same apartment. The small detail did not go unnoticed, with viewers of both the shows taking to Twitter to point out the Easter egg.

These Are the Most Liked Insta Posts of 2021
2021 has been intense, to say the least, and despite nearing the end, the series of unfortunate events don’t seem to be slowing down. But one thing to distract us from the struggles is social media, specifically celebrity Instagram accounts.
These days it’s almost customary to announce huge news through a carefully curated Insta post. Whether a star has gotten married or they’re expecting a baby, it really didn’t happen until it’s on the grid.
We usually feel like royalty when we hit 100 likes, but we’re talking in the multi-millions here, because of course, fame comes with a large following and a loyal fan base that waits for your every move. Can’t relate TBH.
From Billie Eilish to Kylie Jenner (yep, we just gave it away), these celebrity posts have cemented themselves in the double-tap hall of fame with the most-liked Instagram posts of 2021.
