Cate Blanchett, Austin Butler and More Win Big at the 2023 BAFTAs

Cate Blanchett BAFTA 2023 Winner

It’s the season of wins and awards for the film, television and music industries. And the end of the 2023 BAFTA Awards marks another step closer to the Oscars.

With the most BAFTA nominations this year German war film, “All Quiet on the Western Front” cleaned up with seven awards, including Best Film not in the English Language and Best Adapted Screenplay.

“All Quiet on the Western Front” snagged awards for Best Film, Best Cinematography, Best Original Score, Best Sound and Best Director for Edward Berger. And with its victories also comes a new record for most awards won by a non-English language film. This was previously held by the 1988 movie, “Cinema Paradiso”, which scored five awards.

It was a great evening for Australians with Cate Blanchett taking home Best Actress for her role in “Tár” and Baz Luhrmann’s “Elvis” won four BAFTAs, including Best Actor for Austin Butler.
