Australian Survivor: Everything You Need to Know About Josh Millgate

We’re getting down to the pointy end of Australian Survivor: Blood Vs Water, and with only nine people left in the game, we’re beginning to get to know our castaways more intimately.

In tonight’s episode, we got to know a little more about Josh Millgate, who’s been playing a strong game with his cousin Jordan Schmidt all season and is one of the key players in the majority alliance with Mark Wales, Sam Gash, Chrissy Zaremba and “Juicy” Dave Goodchild.

Tonight saw the castaways head to the Survivor auction, a fan favourite moment of each season.

In the final bid, Shay Lajoie won a letter from home, but was then offered a twist: Either keep her letter for herself, or give everyone else on the tribe their letters, but sacrifice her own.

Shay sacrificed her own letter for the sake of everyone else.

Back at camp, the castaways were all very emotional reading letters from their loved ones, but none more so than Josh, whose letter from fiancée Saige Todd contained a very special surprise: sonogram photos!

In a confessional, Josh explained that prior to leaving to go on Australian Survivor, he and Saige were about to begin the in vitro fertilisation (IVF) process to try to have a baby, but in the pre-tests, the doctors discovered that Saige had “a big cyst on her ovary”.

Right after that, he had to leave to film the show, so he didn’t know what news from home would bring or whether Saige was going to have to have surgery.

As it turns out, as Saige was “getting all the tests done for IVF and for the potential operation, [she] was… pregnant the entire time”.

“To my dearest Josh,” Saige wrote in her letter. “Your dream has come true and you’re going to be a dad. I’m nine weeks pregnant.”

Overcome with emotion, Josh was congratulated by his tribemates as he thanked Shay for sacrificing her letter so he could learn this news.

Meanwhile, let’s learn a little more about Josh. Here are five fast facts:

1. He’s an airline pilot

2. He got engaged in June 2021

Josh and Saige have been together since late 2015, with Josh first making an appearance on Saige’s IG just after Christmas in 2015. He popped the question at Lindonberry Winery, and Saige posted that it was “the easiest decision” she’d ever made.

3. Baby Millgate is due in May

Josh and Saige are expecting a baby boy, their “little miracle”, in late May of 2022.

4. He has a dog called Hank

5. He has a blue belt in mixed martial arts

Does Josh have what it takes to go all the way? Only time will tell.

Until then, Australian Survivor: Blood Vs. Water continues…
