Team Brains or Brawn? Meet the Final Three Castaways on Australian Survivor

After Monday night’s gripping Survivor: Brains V Brawn episode, we have been left with three contestants fighting for the title.

The final is set to take place on Sunday night, with George, Flick and Hayley battling it out to answer the highly speculated question: Which is more important, brains or brawn?

Let’s get to know the three castaways.

George Mladenov

George has been the talk of the town since the very first episode after he discovered an advantage that saved him and others in the Brain tribe from getting eliminated.

After saving a number of older and physically weaker members of the tribe, George managed to offend them when he revealed the reason as to why he wanted to keep them around.

Nicknamed “The Cockroach of Bankstown” because he makes it out alive each and every time, George is a political staffer for the Labor Party and resides in Western Sydney.

Hayley Leake

Hayley Leake has quite an impressive CV, with the pain researcher having won three immunity challenges throughout her time in the competition.

As a huge Survivor fan, Hayley made sure to study the game from beforehand.

“I re-watched a lot of old seasons, and I made these spreadsheets, and on them, I put down why people were voted off at different times and what their mistakes were, so I could try to learn from their mistakes,” she told Who.

She’s considered a frontrunner, with SportsBet predicting she’ll take home the title.

Flick Palmateer

The only Brawn left in the competition, Flick Palmateer is making sure to give it everything she’s got.

During an emotional moment in the second last episode, Flick revealed her mother had tragically passed away during filming.

“My Mum has been one of my biggest inspirations and the very reason that I do anything in life. She taught me more than she would ever know, she still continues to teach me things even though now she’s gone,” Flick shared on Instagram alongside photos of her mum.

“I wish I had more time with you on this earth. You were taken way too soon. You’re free now Mum and there’s no more suffering, where ever you are now must be a really magic place. I will continue to live for you Mum, it’s not right that you aren’t here. I love you and miss you.”

Despite the immense loss, Flick remained in the game, knowing that would be what her mother would have wanted.

She proceeded to use her platform to raise funds for Dementia and FTD research and as of August 30, she had managed to raise $20,000.
