“Euphoria” star Angus Cloud has died at age 25, TMZ reported on July 31. According to a statement from his family, the outlet noted that the actor was at his family’s home in Oakland, CA. “It is with the heaviest heart that we had to say goodbye to an incredible human today,” they said in the statement. “As an artist, a friend, a brother and a son, Angus was special to all of us in so many ways.”
Their statement continued, “Last week he buried his father and intensely struggled with this loss. The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend. Angus was open about his battle with mental health and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence.”
In conclusion, they said, “We hope the world remembers him for his humor, laughter and love for everyone. We ask for privacy at this time as we are still processing this devastating loss.” Reps for Cloud did not immediately respond to POPSUGAR’s request for comment.
Shortly after news of Cloud’s death broke, his “Euphoria” costar Javon Williams paid tribute to him on Instagram. “rest easy brother❤️?️,” he wrote in the caption beneath a photo of the two of them together.
Cloud rose to stardom for his role as drug dealer Fezco “Fez” O’Neill on the HBO drama, a character he played for two seasons. He also starred in this year’s thriller movie “The Line” with Alex Wolff, Halle Bailey, and Austin Abrams and previously appeared in 2021’s “North Hollywood.” According to Variety, he was recently cast opposite Melissa Barrera in a new monster flick from “Scream 6” directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett.
