Allison Williams’s Short but Sweet Dating History
Actor and producer Allison Williams has been gracing our screens for nearly two decades. The 35-year-old star made her acting debut in the 2004 NBC drama series “American Dreams,” but her acting career didn’t fully take off until she landed the role of Marnie Michaels in Lena Dunham’s HBO series “Girls,” which ran for six seasons from 2012 to 2017. After “Girls,” Williams began acting in films, and in 2017, she portrayed the manipulative Rose Armitage in Jordan Peele‘s Oscar-winning film “Get Out.” Following the success of “Get Out,” Williams has starred in Netflix’s “A Series of Unfortunate Events,” and “M3GAN,” among other notable works. Most recently, she can be seen alongside Jonathan Bailey and Matt Bomer in “Fellow Travelers,” which hit Showtime on Oct. 27.
Outside of her acting career, Williams prefers to keep her personal life, including details about her romances, out of the public eye. Over the years, Williams has been linked to CollegeHumor and Vimeo cofounder Ricky Van Veen and actor Alexander Dreymon. The “Get Out” actor was married to Van Veen from 2015 until their split in 2019. And after starring in “Horizon Line” together, Williams and Dreymon began dating in late 2019 and quietly welcomed a son named Arlo in the winter of 2021. The couple casually announced their engagement in December 2022, and appear to be as strong as ever.

Ricky Van Veen (2011-2019)
Williams met Van Veen at a viewing party for “The Bachelor” hosted by a mutual friend. “We went to a weekly viewing party every week,” Williams explained (via The Daily Mail) in an interview on “Bachelor Live” in 2016. “It was like a big group date, but with both genders equally distributed…it was how we met up.”
The pair dated for three years before Van Veen proposed to Williams at another “Bachelor” viewing party in February 2014. “So where the viewing party is, is at my friend Lee Eisenberg’s house…And he has a couch where we always watch the show, and that’s where Ricky proposed to me, on Lee Eisenberg’s couch,” she explained on “Bachelor Live.”
The couple tied the knot in September 2015 in a ceremony that was officiated by none other than Tom Hanks, with guests like Williams’s “Girls” costars Lena Dunham and Jemima Kirke, as well as Katy Perry and John Mayer, per People.
However, the two called it quits in June 2019 after four years of marriage. “With mutual love and respect, we have made the decision to separate as a couple. We are grateful for the friendship that we have and will continue to have,” Williams and Van Veen said in a joint statement to Page Six at the time.
Alexander Dreymon (2019-Present)
After her split from Van Veen, Williams starred in “Horizon Line,” where she met Alexander Dreymon. The pair connected on set immediately and started dating at the end of 2019, as reported by People. Throughout their relationship, the couple have kept their personal life under wraps and out of the spotlight.
In late 2021, Williams and Dreymon privately welcomed their first child together, a son named Arlo. The “Fellow Travelers” star opened up about her experience with motherhood in a January 2023 interview on “Today With Hoda and Jenna,”saying, “I’m very proud. I get, like, weird and shy when I talk about it because it’s so new. But I’m obsessed with him; it’s all I think about. It’s just the most unbelievable adventure. I feel lucky every day.”
But having a child together isn’t the only milestone Williams and Dreymon have celebrated. In December 2022, Dreymon revealed via Instagram that he and Williams were engaged in a sentimental post honoring the “Get Out” actor. “Premiere of M3GAN with a screaming, laughing, cheering crowd. It’s the ultimate fun scarefest,” he wrote. “I’m so proud of my gorgeous fiancée @aw.”
