Cher May Have Changed Alexander Edwards’s Views on Monogamy

According to his 2020 interview with Stoned Fox, Edwards has served as the vice president of artists and repertoire at Def Jam Records, as well as the label Viktor Viktor (it’s unclear if he still holds these roles). He played a role in discovering and developing artists such as Pop Smoke and YK Osiris. Currently, he serves as the president of Tyga’s record label, Last Kings Records. Explaining his working process with new artists, he told Stoned Fox, “I like to start by understanding what/where they come from, who they want to become, and what influences them. Find the similarities and use all that information and our similarities as the main ingredients as we cook and get creative.”

Edwards told Stoned Fox that if he could share a blunt with anyone dead or alive, it would be with the late rapper Tupac Shakur. “We’d discuss things he never got to say. We’d talk about the culture today. I’d have him tell me some fire stories. Then I’d put on a beat, and we’d just freestyle,” he said.

Edwards and Amber Rose dated for three years from 2018 to 2021, and they welcomed one child together named Slash Electric in October 2019.

Edwards and Rose broke up in 2021, with Rose accusing Edwards of cheating on her with 12 women. Later, in an interview on Instagram Live with Big Von, Edwards admitted Rose’s claims were true. Of his reaction to getting dumped by Rose, he said, “I thought, ‘Sh*t, I got caught.’ I got caught before, you know what I’m saying? And she’s just had enough, obviously.”

Edwards went even further, admitting that although he loved Rose, monogamy wasn’t for him. “I love her, though. That’s, like, my best friend, the mother of my son. I love [Sebastian], my stepson too. But . . . I like women,” he said before explaining that he couldn’t be “happy or successful” if he wasn’t true to himself, which involves being with multiple. “It’s just who I am, and it’s not how she wants to be loved,” he continued, adding, “I know that I could stop [cheating]. I could give her a good, solid six months and just really, like, deprive myself of my true nature for as long as I can take it, but I don’t want to live like that.”

However, his feelings may have changed, a source telling People in February that, when it comes to his relationship with Cher, they “are exclusive and serious.”

On Nov. 6, 2022, Cher confirmed via Twitter that she met Edwards at Paris Fashion Week in late September 2022. The pair weren’t snapped together at the time, but she was photographed with Edwards’s friend Tyga. Cher and Edwards stepped out together as a couple for the first time in LA months later on Nov. 2, 2022. They were photographed holding hands, as you can see above.

At the “Carol Burnett: 90 Years of Laughter + Love” taping on March 2, Cher told E! that Edwards will take part in the production of her next two albums. When asked what the albums’ inspirations were, she couldn’t help but blush as she said, “Some of the songs Alexander gave me, so I’m pretty excited about that. He’s a producer and a writer, and he does everything, so I’m happy about that.”
