With Married At First Sight set to premiere at the end of this month, it’s time to get to know the contestants. Eight brides and eight grooms have volunteered to take part in the insane social experiment where they’re required to marry a person that they’ve never met.
So now that the cast has been announced, it’s time to get to know each one. Today, we’re going to dig deep in Al, a 25-year-old carpenter from NSW. Described as cheeky and loveable, Al has never been in a long term relationship and it may have something to do with the fact that he’s a “stay at home son.” Still living with his parents, with his mum doing his cooking, cleaning and washing, Al knows it’s time for him to grow up.
But despite him thinking he’s perfect in every way, he does have a fear of rejection, something he’s worried about facing when he makes it to the end of the aisle.
While we don’t know who Al is going to be paired up with just yet, we do know that whoever that person is will need a lot of patience.
Married At First Sight isn’t exactly known for their contestants finding lifelong love. So far, five out of 72 couples have kept their spark alive after the cameras stopped rolling. The show, which is one of the biggest reality TV shows to come out of Australia, is infamous for its scandal and drama rather than its relationships.
Returning to the show are experts John Aiken, Mel Schilling and Alessandra Rampolla, to pair the couples together.
Married At First Sight premieres on January 31 on Channel 9 and 9Now.
