“The Bear”‘s Abby Elliott Was Actually Pregnant While Filming – Get to Know Her Kids

Since starting on “Saturday Night Live” in 2008, Abby Elliott has established herself as a successful actor. After departing the beloved sketch show, Elliott starred in the Bravo sitcom “Odd Mom Out” as Brooke Von-Weber and as Rebecca Klein in the NBC sitcom “Indebted.” Most recently, Elliott has garnered attention and acclaim for her role as Natalie “Sugar” Berzatto on Hulu’s “The Bear” alongside Jeremy Allen White.

When she isn’t busy working, though, Elliott shares parenting duties with her husband, “House of Cards” writer Bill Kennedy. The two began dating in 2014 and tied the knot in the presence of 200 guests in September 2016, as reported by People. Elliott and Kennedy have since welcomed two children together, daughter Edith Pepper and son William Joseph. While “The Bear” actor is now a happy mom of two, the journey to motherhood was initially a tough one. She underwent IVF prior to the birth of her first child, which she further explained during a 2020 “Kelly Clarkson Show” interview. “[IVF] is hardcore…So many people go through this and we don’t talk about it enough, I think, as women. We need to raise more understanding and awareness . . . It’s such a miracle what doctors can do,” she shared.

Edith Pepper Kennedy

Elliott welcomed her first child into the world on Oct. 23, 2020. The actor shared the good news on Instagram at the time, calling her daughter, “the love of our lives.” While she was pregnant, Elliott kept the exciting news a secret, and only revealed a month before her daughter’s birth that she and Kennedy were expecting their first child together. In an Instagram post celebrating her four-year wedding anniversary, the “Indebted” star wrote, “Happy 4 Years my love! Here’s to many more wonderful adventures with you- the greatest one of all coming next month❤️.” Outside of the occasional pictures on social media, Elliott has kept Edith out of the spotlight and not much is known about her.

William “Billy” Joseph Lunney Kennedy IV

The second child of the Elliott/Kennedy family was born on June 9, 2023. Similar to the birth of Edith, Elliott shared the news on Instagram just a few days later, saying in part, “hearts bursting we love you so much.” Unlike her first pregnancy, the “Odd Mom Out” actor was open about expecting baby number two. In a June 2023 interview with Romper, she explained, “There was no hiding it, and it felt nice…It felt like, ‘I have a little buddy along for this ride.’ It eased the pressure in a weird way, because it just reminded me that I have a friend, that I have a little partner in this.”

As far as her work went, Elliott revealed to the outlet that she was 33 weeks pregnant when filming for the second season of “The Bear” wrapped, and that it was mostly smooth sailing for her. “It’s been pretty easy the whole pregnancy, up until the last couple of weeks,” she revealed.
