Storm Reid celebrated her 17th birthday a little early this year with a trip to celebrity tattoo artist Daniel Winter, aka Winter Stone. Even though her actual birthday is on July 1, the Euphoria star posted a photo of her new ink on Instagram on June 13. The tiny tattoos – an outline of a lightning bolt and the phrase “You R My Sunshine” in a script font on her outer wrists – were supposedly a gift from her team.
“My WHOLE team is composed of magnificent humans, but my managers blew me away with this one. They’ve known I wanted more lil tatts since I got my first one, and they surprised me with these the other day as a birthday gift. Not even knowing I already had an appointment. Divine timing, for sure. What a lucky girl I am. Evelyn, Pryia, and Chris, thank you so much. Love y’all deep,” Reid captioned pics of her new ink on Instagram. At the end, she tagged Winter and said, “you’re so freaking talented.”
The artist also posted a photo on his page of her lightning-bolt tattoo. “HAPPY BDAY BOLT!” he wrote. “Happy bday @stormreid you are on your way to the top! Keep crushing the game!”
These aren’t the first pieces of ink that Reid’s gotten from the coveted celebrity tattooist. The duo’s relationship began almost exactly a year ago when Reid visited Winter on her 16th birthday for her first tattoo. She decided to mark the occasion by getting “Matthew 17:20,” a verse from the Bible that holds a special meaning for her, inked in fine lines on her left inner forearm. She shared a photo of the tattoo on Instagram, writing, “My mommy has always told me that if I have faith as small as a mustard seed, God will move mountains and he has.”
The Bible verse reads: “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” Considering Reid’s activism on social media and her talent for giving motivational speeches, it’s no surprise that her tattoo is so inspirational.
Ever since she got that design she’d been planning her next. Reid told POPSUGAR in a previous interview: “I’m planning on getting more. I add a new tattoo to my list every day, but I always want to have meaningful tattoos and put them in meaningful places. I am definitely trying to get one very soon.”
